College Fantasy Football 06

I don't see how we can prioritize the weekly pickups, either. I mean, if the best team in the league decide he wants RB "Smith", and says so, then all it takes is for any other team to then say, "no, wait, I want 'Smith', and the top team gets screwed. It would have to be a PM type of thing, where each team has the option of picking someone up a week, but they have to PM 27 with their pick. If a worse team PM's the same pickup, then the worst team gets the player. If no two teams want the same guy, then everyone gets what they want.

We could just set time limits in groupings... like the 3 worse teams have Monday to pick up. Then the next 3 have Tuesday, the next 3 have Wednesday and the 3 top teams have Thursday. Of course each groupings is 1st come 1st serve, and if your day is Monday and decide on Wednesday to pick someone up then it is just 1st come/1st serve at that time.

But I also don't mind 1st come/ 1st served starting at like Monday at noon. But we should do a group vote on that now so no one can complain with either method.

The only issue I could see there is a player that has a Wednesday game not being available to anyone in the top 3 in standings.

I'm in favor of first come/first serve for all teams.

Seems like we are leaning towards first come/ first served with a limit of 5 or so pickups on the entire year.

But no one has mentioned how they would want the draft to run. I think we should do it via a thread on BP with some sort of time limit (12 hours?) The only question would be BN's friend Kevin, but he can easily email him when his pick is up and announce his picks.

Any objections? Other ideas? Thoughts? We should get things rolling soon as we are a month and a half away from the start of the season!

12 hours sounds like a long time... but, I guess that'll get us through the overnight period.

I like the first come first serve with a limit of 5 for the year.

For the draft, a thread on here is fine with me. 12 hour limit is a good amount. That's not set in stone, and I can get my brother's picks easily.

Anybody that would rather do the draft a different way?

Still waiting on a team name from BuckeyeSoldier.

Everybody should review the rules in the thread. We are going to go with 5 drop/adds for each team to be used on a first come first serve basis. You only get 5 for the whole year, so don't cry when you use all 5 up in week 2 and your QB goes down in week 3.

Unless there are objections, we are going to do a draft on BP. If FKA objects I'll ignore it. I really don't want the draft to go into September, so I hope we can all check the Draft thread regularly and get it over with quickly. I'm going to subscribe to it and I suggest that everybody else does the same. Then when you log in to BP each day you can just click on User CP and see if there is any activity.

I'll have a (better) website up soon, and I'll keep track of points and standings and shit like that better this year (because I'll be in first place so I'll want to).

Last year the penalty for picking a non-BCS/NA team was that you lose a pick. It was supposed to be funny but somebody actually blew it, so they got punished . This year if you pick a non-BCS/NA guy then the pick will be made as 'nobody' and the next person will be on the clock, but you can fix it whenever you realize your stupidity .

ex: bkb picks Brett Favre, while I'm waiting in the wings to grab Troy Smith who has surprisingly lasted till pick number 13. I pick Troy Smith as bkb realizes how dumb he is. Oneshot is on the clock now, but bkb can draft at any time.

I might be able to post a list of all QBs, RBs, and WRs. I can definitely post the QBs. I hope that helps everybody.

As soon as everybody responds to this in either PM or on the thread (I'll copy it both places), I think we can start the draft.

Oh c'mon I loved that penalty for picking someone outside of a BCS conference/ND. I mean if someone is that stupid they deserve to lose their pick (Well, they do get a supplemental draft pick in the last round to even out there team). Plus it is high comedy!

My only question is about the 1st come/ 1st serve on free agents. Should we have a non-action period so no one can pick anyone up from Saturday at kickoff until Sunday night or Monday morning/afternoon.

Besides that... I am ready to draft!
