I personally like him. You don't get the typical East Coast slant since he's from the NW. He calls it like he sees it without a ton of schtick.

I hated Kornheiser on radio personally.

He's got the show on ESPN radio right after Mike & Mike in the morning. I think he's on from like 10-12 or 10-1. I haven't listened to him but a couple of times, but I did hear the show where he dogged ND pretty hard. IMO, he didn't say anything that wasn't true...he basically said that ND is down right now, and have been for a couple of years, then he got into their schedule. To sum it up, he said that ND gets undue "acclaim" for their schedule, which he thinks in reality isn't as tough as people are always giving them credit for. Again, I agree. While ND plays the tough games (such as scUM, USC, etc.), they also schedule the patsies (BYU, Navy, etc.). He wanted to know why that schedule was any more difficult than an SEC or B10 schedule. Again, I think that's true. If you play in the SEC this year, you have to play Florida, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, etc. And there aren't a whole lot of Navy-caliber teams in that conference.

i like the guy. he seems to like the buckeyes...but thats not why i like him. he agrees with most of the things i do (except his love for the yankees).

when i say he 'likes' the buckeyes, or his 'love' for the yankees....i dont mean those are his favorite teams. he does a good job of not letting anybody know what his favorites are. i mean he generally says good things about ohio state and he always has good things to say about the yankees as a baseball team. he likes jeter a lot.


on a side note....did anybody hear him this afternoon? they had a poll of who the best football program is right now and i believe either we just edged out oklahoma or they edged us out (based on a number of criteria that i didnt hear...possibly coaches, NCs, program direction, blah blah blah).

then the update guy came on and said ohio state just passed oklahoma and he said thats because of the idiots on the message boards. ohio state has a big message board following. and the update guy said....yeah, bucknuts.com or some nonsense like that.

hehe, they totally ripped bucknuts.

Well he was real wrong about the schedule (as is FKA) as ND has the toughest schedule in the country from here to the end of the year as ND's future opponents have a combined record of 17-3 ! Overall the schedule ranks at #2...

Even Navy is 3-0!

I personally like Colin and think he's pretty "on" with most of what he says, especially regarding college football. What you have to understand about outside opinions of the Irish is that they are expected to have one of the toughest schedules year in and year out. I can't fault the Domers for the fact that their schedule is easier this year, because who would expect Mich to be down, MSU and Washington to be terrible? Essentially, Notre Dame has played and beat Meatchicken this season and they lost to a bad team in BYU. Beat Purdue and then the Irish can boast a little.

I don't know why exactly anyone would single out the Irish for bad schedules though. I mean, Wake Forest is 3-1 and has played two D-I AA teams! Georgia, FSU, Texas, Etc. plays North East Central Alaska Tech A&M, Lehman's school of the Blind, and Marimount Womans Detention Center every year. I'm not saying OSU's schedule is terribly stacked or anything, but a lot of that is dependent on a conference. If Notre Dame schedules 4 pasties (like us playing MSU, Indiana, Illinois, Cincy) then they will get accused of soft scheduling. It doesn't affect us as much with perception because most of them are part of our conference year in and out.

It may not be right, but ND values their Independence so much. They think they are so much better than everyone else, but they'll continue to suffer until they join a conference. They play half the Big Ten every year anyway.

I think the fans have been humbled by the past few years. I'm not sure admininstration and prominent alumni are prepared to make themselves "just another program" by joining a conference and losing preferential television treatment. I guess if tOSU had it, I wouldn't want to lose it either though...so it's a little hypocritical for me to judge the school as arrogant.

I know this is way off the subject...but everyone should check out the poll on Cowherd's website!
