So it's just so you can rank up? Seems rather pointless to me. But I guess when it's mommy and daddy's money, you don't mind losing value in the game.
I prefer Battlefield to COD 5 times over, but a friend in Ohio has a group of guys that play every Friday night. It's fun for that reason to me. I went 10 years with only playing Football and GTA games mainly. When I play shooter games, if I finish I'm the middle of the pack I'm happy.

And yes, but not so much to rank up, more so for the Diamond guns. (100 headshots for each weapon, and then there's some objective camos you have to unlock as well).
I enjoy playing shooters, but not nearly as much as I once did. Then again, I've got fallback options now when things aren't going well on COD:BO2 or BF3. Just recently picked up Forza Motorsport 4 (fucking love it), and also have FIFA 13, and Halo 4.
Poor Halo 4... Played it quite a bit when it came out, but haven't put it back in the system since getting Call of Duty and Forza.

Got the game for Christmas but didn't play it until New Year's Day. Wasn't in a room two seconds and I got these little motherfuckers saying "Look everyone, we got a Christmas newb. Christmas newb. Christmas NEWWWWB!"

I've actually discovered the Hardcore games are much cleaner. Other than going up against a team that likes to camp every once in a while, I can play hardcore every day and be ok with it now.
Hopefully when the map packs start they'll have some bigger maps.

Well, I'm still playing/enjoying it.
I like that, short of using the ballistic knife, lag knifing is gone. It's been a rare occurrence to see a guy absorbing bullets and knifing someone. Honestly, that's what infuriated me the most.
The occasional lag compensation issues are frustrating, but I haven't seen near the problems that some have talked about.
I still enjoy the guns/sounds/game modes. Regarding game modes: I never, EVER play TDM. 2 reasons:
1. Campers. You're absolutely rewarded for corner camping with a shotty/submachine gun.
2. Snipers. You're absolutely rewarded for sitting in the back of the map and sniping.
So, I either play KC, which fucks over the snipers that never confirm, or hardpoint (Which is becoming a problem because everyone knows the next point now), domination, or demolition. I've really been enjoying demolition, because it doesn't bother me when people are "camping" the bomb or anything, since that's what they're supposed to do. And a well organized team...or, 2 guys with mics () can easily clear a bomb site and plant before the enemy respawns. Then it's a battle of protecting the bomb site, which I find fun.
If camping has pissed you off, I recommend either HP/Dom/Demo or Hardcore mode.
As far as boosting, I've only ran into it once. It was sweet, I killed the guy about 3 times, then followed my teammate to their next location, resulting in several rage messages. Hahaha
