looks like Mel Tucker will be confirmed at CU after the games today. Cleveland Heights guy, UW and a LOT of B1G & SEC clout with Saban & Tress. He was the DB coach at OSU for the '01 championship, co-DC in '04 then moved to the NFL & was the interim HC after Del Rio got canned in JAX.

haven't seen anything for sure but i'd guess that bc expectations are they get torched today that he would be gone. hard to justify paying a new coach but letting him spend (up to) an extra month with his prev team when it was clear they wanted to get this show on the road asap by firing Mac before the last game of the yr..a week isn't much but a month lost on recruiting is not great

yeah in theory. i'm not sure how real an effect it would have tho..like, if that's your real selling point when you walk into mom's house then the coach prob isn't that great to begin with and you'd actually need the extra month to try & make up for that, if that makes sense. gravy, sure, but if the turkey tastes like shit there's only so much it can mask

obv thats not to say he's a bad coach or anything..guy has been in the game for 20yrs under the best head coaches of the last generation so he knows what he's doing. that kind of pedigree doesn't need a natty
