Major Applewhite was hanging around Ohio State practices a couple years ago and has been running the Meyer/Herman offense masterfully at Houston. He may need a landing spot if he's blocked from going to UT with Herman.

OregonLive.com's John Canzano, who is reporting Oregon's interest in Schiano, wrote this on Wednesday morning:

He won 11 games once at Rutgers, and according to a source involved in the hiring process at Oregon, 'According to his peer groups, he's one of the best.'

Strong was set up for failure at Texas.He was a "place holder". He could never get support from the alumni or wealthy backers. A black coach would never get acceptance there. Herman is their ideal of what they want.

Yeah, and he recently signed a contract extension ... 15 mil + running thru 2021. Don't think they want to pay that off because they don't like him. Must be something else going on.
