Have Kluber finish off the sweep and we're back at .500 and at worst 4 1/2 back, not too shabby for as inconsistent as they've been, Salazar being a bust this year, Masterson looking more like a 6th starter instead of an ace, and a torrid run of injuries to Santana, Bourn, Swisher, Kipnis, etc.
Do not forget TJ House and he really came out of nowhere
Sorry for the tardiness...they're still [Mark May]ty.
Carrasco with his first win since Aug 20. Tribe back to .500, well deserved rest of Thursday off.
Long road trip begins Friday against Whirling Darvish and the Rangers.
Yes.Carrassco not screwing the pooch or Assdribble getting a clutch hit....more surprising?
This 10 day road trip will really determine what this team will do. It's a tough one, they can't be swept in any of the series and need to win 4 to convince me this team is going anywhere this year. They can't continue being the worst road team in baseball if they want to sniff the playoffs this year.
I don't want Santana out there either...I mean not as in not ever, but he should take on the Aviles role of backing up several positions, especially while the team is winning without him. He can back up at C, 1B, 3B, and DH, which means he can play 3 times a week and not fuck things up royally (we hope) as long as he bats like 7th or 8th. McAllister seems to go through stretches where he is beyond awful anyway, so I wonder if this time away will recharge his batteries or if he comes back rusty. He better be good, though, because Salazar seems to have entirely fallen apart and may not ever come back.I'd say they need to at least "hold it together" and yeah, 4 wins would be doing that, I'm curious if McAllister and some others get actually healthy what they can do... I mean, as much as Litl doesn't want Santana in there, I'd rather have him healthy and DH'ing than old man hgh.
I thought I read yesterday where Francona mentioned that Santana will not be catching anymore. I do not know if that is just for this season or the rest of his career. If he does not catch and Chiz does not quit hitting entirely that is going to severely limit Santana's bats. I guess if something would happen to Murphy that would mean Swisher could go out there and Santana might play some first space but otherwise his or someone's AB's are going to be very limited.I don't want Santana out there either...I mean not as in not ever, but he should take on the Aviles role of backing up several positions, especially while the team is winning without him.
