Cleveland Indians (official 2012 season)

tsteele316;2137652; said:
the bigger issue than perez sucking and umpires squeezing the strike zone for joey bats was the fact that cleveland only scored in one of 16 innings, and [Mark May] down their legs twice in extra innings when all they needed was contact to the outfield to win the game.
So, basically, they're the same Indians they were over the last 130 games last season. Swell.

Strange, I was sure adding Casey Kotchman (granted, he's surely going to be an upgrade over LaBusta) and resigning Glass Joe would get them over the hump. Hopefully Sizemore's earning that $5M by scrubbing the toilets, because I'll be shocked if he escapes the dugout uninjured this year.

Three Tribe Goats from Opening Day

3. The offense: 4 runs in the 2nd inning and then bupkis. They seem to only score on the HR.
2. Chris Perez: The dude had absolutely nothing. On top of that, his twitter sig is "arm like a fucking cannon". Uh, no. I'd remove that if I were you.
3. Manny Acta. Worst fucking managing decision I have ever seen. Guy comes off a what, three week recovery from an injury?, goes out, struggles, doesn't even get a fucking visit from the manager and blows a 4-1 lead in the 9th. Unbelievable.

You can't really blame the pitching for ANY of this crap (except maybe Perez).

They have played 28 innings and overall pitched very well (13 runns total but only 7 runs in the first 9innings of each game combined for a 3.50 ERA). Not their fault we have like 9 hits in 27 innings so far...

eh, the Jays had 3 hits coming into the inning and Sipp has allowed 4 in 1/3, the offense is crap but its a shitty performance out of the pen for sure

Really excited about Masterson and Ubaldo's starts.

If the bats wake up even a little and the pen gets a little better then this might be a great season! It is very early.

I'm foolishly optimistic, even after suffering through the Blue Jackets hockey season.

as much as the Indians stink

we can take comfort in the fact that the Twins are probably worse

they are currently down 6-0 to Baltimore (who is trotting out Ronny Paulino as their DH) and about to fall to 0-2 against them
