Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

I officially give up on trying to figure this team out. They come out of the break and get their dicks kicked in the dirt against two turds, then sweep a strong offensive team on back-to-back pitching masterpieces...including fucking Ubald-O actually making it past the sixth inning for the first time since Moses. I have no idea what to expect. None.

Tribe starters in their last 16 games had an ERA of 1.78. They now lead the majors with 14 shutouts this season. Who saw that coming? Especially after the first couple of weeks this season...

Not to get sucked in or anything, but if some of the cold bats can get hot, and the pitching can remain solid, we might have something here...

Starters ERA (I know, math fans are not a fan of ERA but still for funsies)

Masterson: 3.42 ERA
Kluber: 3.74 ERA
Jimenez: 4.17 ERA
McAllister: 3.57 ERA
Kazmir: 3.96 ERA

Kazmir and Jimenez, the two highest, are the ones coming on the strongest right now. 1 GB of Baltimore for the last WC spot.

I don't care how consistent they are, I'd just like to watch Cleveland in the playoffs again before I die. Any Cleveland team, I'm not picky.

Antonetti needs to get some bullpen help and he needs to find someone to play 3B...I doubt we do either
I think there are some guys down in Columbus that they are looking at for the bullpen but they also might go out and make a deal but, like you, I doubt it. Also, they are in love with LC so I doubt if any move is made there plus a proven 3B would be very costly.

I've been a fan of Kazmir since he was with the Rays, and couldn't figure out how or why he so completely lost his mojo. Hope he keeps it now; when he's good, he can be almost unhittable. Ubaldo has, of course, proven the same.

There's almost no one to get, so, I mean, don't get too pissy at Antonetti... hell the Rangers are shopping Joe Nathan just because they think they can get a lot back for him this year. I mean, I've never even heard of Josh Outman.

Tribe: "Hey uh, we need a lefty reliever"

Rockies; "weeelll, Sheeeeeeeeit, we got some of those... prolly, wait, let me check...

...

Oh, yeah, we got one, his name is Josh something or other, we'll take a check"

Outman has a couple things going for him:
a. His slash line vs lefties is .224/.274/.303/.576. So he is a capable LOoGy, which we lack.
b. He wears #88 which Cleveland hasn't seen since Rene Gonzales
c. He's not a scUMmer like Rich Hill, who is even more terrible

The real problem is Hagadone and Barnes have been crappy in Columbus.

I disagree, I think we have plenty of loogies.

So, when Peralta gets popped in the Biogenesis thing does he take his lumps now and screw detroit and keep better FA value, or does he try to stall to the end of the season and take it next year.

This assumes that MLB doesn't say, "oh, appeal? ummm... no, too bad you're done for the season"
