Chris Perez rehab assignment in Akron.... 1 IP 5 H 5 R 5 ER 3 HR 2K 1 HBP

send him to the glue factory

He said before last night's game that he would be ready to return to the Indians' pen on Friday. Hopefully somebody can "suggest" to him he needs a bit more work?

Perez, who said he felt good physically, threw 23 pitches, 17 for strikes. He struck out two batters on sliders, but topped out at 90 mph on his fastball.

Well Uballso only lasts 5 1/3 only allowing 2 solor HRs,though he gave up 8 hits and 2 walks and slung 99 pitches (guess you take that from him though) and the Indians lead 3-2 in the 7th

Chicken Coup will surely wreck the day, right?

The coup surivives and the Tribe win 5-2

Michael Brantley has 12 more RBIs then Nick Swisher....yikes

Nah Baltimore's bats have gone away....I think Baltimore might seriously fall out of contention here soon if they don't start up again, their pitching isn't nearly good enough to only give up 2-3 runs a game.

You take it everyday and twice on sunday... he needs to throw his fastball for strikes to be effective (and not walk 800 guys a game)... if giving up a solo shot or two is the downside... not really that big a deal. You'd have liked him to get 2 or 3 or 4 more outs but, if this is a bad outing, and more or less it was, his stuff was NOT great... take it. He's sort of been on the every 3rd start is a disaster schedule... this should have been that but he got away with the 8 hits and 2 walks. Last 10 starts he's 5-2 and 3.46. And at a quick glance I think the tribe is 7-3 in those games... so, not danger of the Cy Young awards but, not terrible...

Meanwhile these clowns have follwed up that 8 game debacle by winning 4 series and taking the first from Baltimore... keep grinding away I guess.

if they could get any sort of consistency out of the bullpen I'd say they can make a run. but with the starting pitching being smoke and mirrors and the offense being feast or famine, having an unreliable bullpen will be the ultimate undoing.
