He can still be a leader even if he is on the DL:banger:

Maybe he won't pick up a roster spot after all.

Talked to a friend of mine who lives around Tampa Bay and he says that Kasmir is a head case.

i guess we still may try and acquire McGuiness back on the team through trade or something...not sure of the process...either way if he was that good then there should be no doubt of him beating out Giambi for a roster spot, knowing that if we do not put him on the 40 day he goes back to Texas

From what I've read this spring, Ramirez & Lindor are both on their way to being elite prospects and an awesome DP combo. Still a couple of years away though.

Yeah likely a Carolina duo this year the CPD said this morning. Could be a great future combo though.

:slappy: Giambi on the DL already...he really is replacing Hafner.

The good news is, we're talking about the last guy on the Bench, not the starting DH... whatever hafner was at the end. My suspicion is that Giambi is only gonna be hurt as long as it takes for Carrasco to serve his suspension, make one start and get optioned.

Kinda surprised Capps was a bust.

Not healthy. Not a headcase.

Yeah, time for all the bullshit to be over and the real games to start. Division is wide open (at least for 2nd place), Tigers lack a closer, Yankees are all hurt...let's get it going.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Unless something happens between now and Tuesday night, when the Indians open the regular season against Toronto, manager Terry Francona has set his opening-day lineup.

It will be the same one he used Saturday in the Tribe's final Cactus League game: CF Michael Bourn (L), SS Asdrubal Cabrera (S), 2B Jason Kipnis (L), 1B Nick Swisher (S), LF Michael Brantley (L), C Carlos Santana (S), DH Mark Reynolds (R), 3B Lonnie Chisenhall (L) and RF Drew Stubbs (R). RHP Justin Masterson will start for the Tribe and face knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.

Cabrera, the Indians two-time All-Star shorstop, was the only regular who hadn't played this past week in Cactus League action. He's been sidelined since Sunday with back spasms, but he played short in a minor league game Friday.

Asked what he liked about the lineup, Francona said, "balance, speed and we have length to it. We've got switch-hitters (three), left-handed hitters (four), we've got right-handed power (Reynolds) with switch-hitters or righties between our lefties.

"Now we have to go see how this lineup is going to do. "
