oops....I forgot to mention the passed ball, that was funny too
The throw he rifled into CF was pretty good too.

Tony should laugh at his team not being able to run away in the standings from a team that consists of a bunch of lifer AAA caliber bums.......
Not to mention that detroit has a top-10 payroll, while cleveland is #26...a chunk of that going to Hafner who is also swooning now.

Indians pursuing Jimenez
47 minutes ago by KenRosenthal

The Yankees and Reds are perceived to be the teams with the best chances of landing Rockies right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez.

Another club, however, is strongly in the mix, according to major-league sources.
'
The Indians.

In fact, one source said, the Indians probably match up with the Rockies the best if they are willing to part with the required players.

Rival executives say the Indians have been aggressive in trying to upgrade both their rotation and their offense, thinking big in multiple deals.

Jimenez is attractive to the Indians and other low-revenue clubs because of the affordability of his contract.

He is earning $2.8 million this season and $4.2 million in 2012 with a $5.75 million club option for ’13.

Jimenez has struggled big time @ coors this year........but on the road he has a 2.83 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP and hitters only hitting .178 against him, a change in home parks could bode well for him (and the Indians) it would be a move for this year and the future to shore up the rotation

Interesting. Though I don't know how much adding a frontline starter is going to help unless they add significant, and I'm not talkin' Willingham or Ludwick, offense as well. Starting pitching is the least of your worries when you can't hit for shit and have atrocious defense.

Gotta think they'd have to part with two top-tier prospects, probably two of Pom/White/Chis/Kipnis. His numbers are pretty pedestrian overall this year, but they're buoyed significantly by pitching in Coors Field. He has a <3.00 road ERA this year. Come pretty cheap through 2013, so I wouldn't hate it. Basically they could deal one of Pom and White (who aren't sure things) for a pretty young guy who has proven himself. Jiminez-Masterson would be a nice top two going forward, that's for sure. I'm thrilled to see them being ambitious enough to jump in on guys like Beltran and Jiminez, seems there's a shift in philosophy in the FO which bodes well for the future...

Buster Olney of ESPN.com hears that the Cubs will get two prospects from the Indians in exchange for outfielder Kosuke Fukudome.

The identities of the players aren't yet known, but since the Cubs are covering more than half of the $4.7 million left on Fukudome's contract, there's a good chance they'll get something of value in return. Olney expects a deal to get done "by gametime" on Thursday.

maybe hagadone.

wouldnt be upset about this either...guy had tommy john surgery in 2008...anyone who has that early in their career can be hit or miss in the future...not many people come back from that surgery and are successful...brett anderson is a lefty who had the surgery who hasnt every fully recovered...but i guess until we know for sure its probably best to not speculate further....jon heyman and others are still reporting that we are interested in ryan ludwick as well
