Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

Good AB for Santana despite the out. Battled back from 0-2 to take it to 9 pitches and a full count. Too bad he couldn't get an RBI out of it.

not trying to bitch at all....just something i am observing...but if santana didnt hit that walk off grand slam, he would only have 14 RBI's on the season...he has a good .OBP % but sometimes i think he should get more aggresive with runners on instead of taking some of the close pitches he does that are borderline...hard to tell a young hitter to stop having such a good eye at the plate and swing at dog shit...but tonight is an example of what im talking about...3 walks...he has 2 RBI's since April 29th which is when he hit his grand slam...9 walks since then...all fine and dandy but he is our clean up hitter and finally the past 2 games hafner, hitting 5th has gotten hot again...so hopefully santana can either start driving more runs in or continue to walk and have hafner clean it up...either will work for me

Also, first 20 starts for the 26 year old:

125.2 IP (gone at least 5 innings in every start)
11-5
3.72 ERA

Un. Ex. Pected. He's been phenomenal.
It might sound crazy, but when he's hitting his spots, he reminds me a lot of a young Greg Maddux. Not gonna overpower anybody, but he's "crafty". Now, whether he can hit his spots as consistently Maddux remains to be seen, and I doubt it...not many ever have. But he still can be a very solid ML pitcher.
