Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

Kyle Farnsworth is, without a doubt, the worst clutch reliever in the history of baseball. Don't get me wrong, there have been a ton of shitty relievers, but those guys by and large are not repeatedly put in with the game on the line. I've been watching this guy for years and years and years, and when the score is 8-0 he's lights out...but when the game is on the line I have never, and I mean never, as i NEVER, seen him pitch well, hold a lead, get a win...anything. EVER.

I don't know if I've ever seen more double plays with RISP. However a win is a win and we gained a game on KC. However, Detroit is surging and they will be a pesky villain in the coming months.

You "gain" a game on someone when you're behind them in the standings and you win and they lose. You "open up" a game when you're tied or ahead of someone in the standings when you win and they lose.

Dang... only 13k for last night? Will let it slide since there were thunderstorms rolling through the area right before gametime. (heck, stopped me from going)

But tonight... 20k or bust, no excuses people!!!

Not that there's anything wrong with that, unless you're a Rays fan! :wink2:

Still gotta give some of the credit to Brantley too. A lot of guys, even those with years more ML experience than he has, would have been hacking away with 2 strikes. He's quietly had a VERY nice start to the season. Moving from CF to LF and from hitting leadoff to down in the bottom third of the order have not phased him.

The offense needs to WAKE UP. The pitching and defense are holding up great but you know that there are going to be those days that the pitchers don't have it and the defense fails to make a play, and right now those are the games we are most certainly going to lose with the way the offense has been hitting. We're getting on base but unlike early in the year we are not getting the timely big hit to put 'em across the plate. Detroit is getting healthy and better so gotta get the offense rolling here soon if we want to keep this up.

i agree they need to do more but dude what do you expect...be happy that we are winning all these games with what we have considering we are a year or 2 ahead of schedule of being competitive and we have one of the lowest payrolls in the league...choo is the one that has to step up the most...he is the only player getting any type of all star recognition before the season...beyond that you cant expect santana to be clutch considering he hasnt even played a full year yet...getting what we have out of hafner already is a blessing but when you looked at our lineup before the year and saw o-cabrrera, hannahan, everett, laporta and brantley theres no way you thought our offense was going to do much...im just happy we are playing well and are competitive...usually by this year im sticking a fork in the season and getting ready for football

Grady Sizemore will undergo a precautionary MRI on his right knee Wednesday evening.

Sizemore is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Rays because of discomfort in his left knee -- not the one he had surgically repaired last season. The Indians are hoping that it's nothing significant, but they're playing it safe and running the right tests to rule out the possibility of structural damage. The results should be available by Thursday morning.

if you didnt watch the game last night, sizemore slid into second base and hit his left knee on the bag and winced in pain...he stayed in the game tho...hopefully nothing
