Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

One game left in April...

  • Best record in the majors (tied)
  • Best home record in the majors
  • Largest run differential in the majors (by TEN)
  • 4.5 game lead in the division (largest in the majors)
If you would have told me this one month ago, I would have told you to "up your meds". Unreal. I'm still gripping the rails waiting for the smack back to reality, but each win has me loosening the grip a little. Maybe this can be one of those magical years. Hell, the division certainly seems down...bigtime.

The magic of baseball... God I love this game!!!

Went to the game last night and it was incredible. Some of the energy was back in Progressive Field even though there were only 15000 there. Laporta really hit the ball well last night and it was good to see Santana bust out of his slump. As soon as Santana hit it everyone knew it was gone. Hope the Indians can keep this up because if so its going to be a fun summer on the lake.

What a game last night. My wife was up stairs, sick and talking to her mom when all of a sudden I yelled: "Ballgame! Get some Carlos!". Needless to say I got a dirty look when I went upstairs. Great to see the resilience is back with this team. If they are going to do anything this year, they are going to have to make noise in the late innings. Roll Tribe!

Heading back downtown for another game this evening, go Tribe!

12 in a row at home, and I get to see Alex White's debut in person - nice.
White really could be the key for the entire season. If he pitches as advertised, we will have a very nice starting rotation even with the injuries.

Carlos Carrasco (elbow) is scheduled for a bullpen session Monday.

It's the first bullpen session for the right-hander, who was placed on the DL Thursday with elbow inflammation. He's not expected to need much more, if any, time on the DL than the minimum.

Mitch Talbot (elbow) threw a successful bullpen session Saturday.

He'll throw again Tuesday. If all goes well, Talbot should be back by mid-May.

Travis Hafner has a strained tendon on the surface of his right foot and will be in a walking boot until Monday.

He'll be reexamined at that time. The Indians are saying that he could be able to remove the boot and pinch-hit if need be, but it sounds like the disabled list might be in order if he doesn't show improvement by Monday. Stay tuned.
