I thought Pestano would make a good closer until a couple weeks ago when Acta brought him in one game in the ninth inning and he acted like he had never pitched before and was all over the place and almost cost us the game. I don't know what's going on with Perez now. Maybe his arm has been overworked this season and if he isn't our closer I guess we might not have one. We certainly don't have the money to go out and look for someone for next year with all of our other needs.

Pestano had a hiccup for a week or two, but he's been far and away our most reliable setup guy. I think this was Perez's 53rd appearance, if that's overworked, he's in the wrong profession.

closers are so un-reliable...there are a handful of closers who consistently lock down the save...perez has 4 blown saves this year...mariano has 5...would i take mariano over perez...for sure...heres other closers with more blown saves then perez i would love to have...joakim soria, natali feliz, Brian Wilson, Craig Krimbel...Perez has 3 of these blown saves since July 19th....i would like to see the indians possibly explore other options after this year other then perez...not sure if Pestano is that guy or not but its something we seriously need to look at...for a team that doesnt score many runs you could argue chris perez has the most important job on this team...we need him to be lights out...he has been terrible lately and all we can do is hope he fixes whatever funk he is in

I think you have to look at Pestano, that's why I'd like to see the switch now. Give you a about six weeks to see if he can do it. Perez is a mess right now and all he's going to do is set you further back. He looked dominant once-upon-a-time, but not anymore. I'm hoping it's a mechanical issue that can be remedied. Maybe Hagadone gets a look next year.
