Phew, Durbin and Raffy Perez preserve the lead...not used to seeing that so early in the season.

Eh, just checked, they had struck out 34 times in the first 4...now 36 in 5 games. Didn't seem like it was that much...
Yeah, given the youth on this team, this is really encouraging to see. I know full well there will be swoons, but fuck, to be 3-2 against two of the better lineups in baseball is pretty surprising. The bullpen has been a pretty nice surprise, especially given how they've been out of the gate the past five years. It's like we're in bizarro world right now...patient bats working counts, manufacturing runs, decent bullpen. Now lets see if Carmona and Carrasco can get their heads screwed on straight...I'm cautiously optimistic that this seson might not be a total fiasco. Hell, if it can be 2004-ish where they hover in contention into August and claw to around .500, I'll be ecstatic.Bucklion;1904251; said:It's when they're striking out that's different I think...no more strikeouts when runners need moved or with a bunch of guys in scoring position...patience and contact in important situations...it's like a foreign concept to this team up until these first few games this year. If they can keep that up, they will stay in plenty of games and win their share. If they go back to the days of walk, wild pitch, single and slow-assed runner stops at third, K, K, K...then we might be in some trouble
