Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

huff made significant changes to his mechanics while back in the minors. it definately shows. he's gotten an extra 1-2 mph on his fastball. his change up has more drop to it and his curve has more tilt. he's also throwing all 3 for strikes at a far better clip.

if he maintains his mechanics, he's a viable candidate to stay in the rotation.

as for the game itself, i long for the day when a visiting team can come into fenway or yankee stadium and get an equal strike zone.

I hope so. He's definitely improved by leaps and bounds from the glorified batting practice pitcher/jeremy sowers clone we saw last season. One thing's for sure, there's no want for starting pitching depth in Cleveland now. Now, if we can just get some help in the OF, this team is on it's way a little earlier than we thought...

between huff turning it around and barnes surprising season in columbus, this team has two viable 6 and 7 guys for the rotation next year. that doesn't even include geanmar gomez. so, i can see why cleveland made the trade they did with white and pomeranz, especially since there is growing discussion that white may end up a bullpen guy.

cabrerra with 2 errors tonight...hopefully the 2nd one doesnt cost us

that was a studly pitch by huff. gonzolez was clearly looking out over the plate and huff saws him off perfectly for an inning ending DP.

also, coincidentally, as soon as i make a comment about umping, the cleveland dugout starts bitching about balls and stikes and check swings.
