Cleveland Guardindians 2024 (Thread of Apathy)

I think they’ll regain form but it’s definitely been disappointing to see them lose form last 2 weeks.

It’s like they went from championship mode to protect their division mode.

They need to loosen up and start playing again….they seem tight to me. Like they’re playing to protect a playoff spot.

Fuck that…go out there and play like you’re the best team in the league.

Eh I don’t think they’ve been really “in championship form” since before they stumbled into the all star break. It was a nice first half but they are really starting to show those holes why nobody expected much from them before the season started.

I disagree….the team is built around contact hitters who should be able to go deep into counts.

Unfortunately, guys have been jumping early and late in counts, and working against tendencies…..it’s frustrating to watch guys who normally work deep counts, jump at bad pitches.

I think this years Guardians are sneaky close to winning a championship if they work out their current issues…..they’re just too tight. They need to play like it’s week 1 again….not protecting a division lead.

I could just as easily see them completely flaming out and not even making the playoffs. The starting pitching is awful there’s no way around it, the bullpen has been starting to come back to earth as well. The offense really has to get it together to salvage things. Right now guys are just hacking at anything, good at bats have been few and far between these last few weeks

Vogt starting to make rookie manage mistakes at the worse time doesn’t help either. Tonight was particularly bad. A guy who is pitching his first major league start of the year is clearly burnt, you have a guy in the pen ready but you still leave the burnt guy in to give up what was the game losing 3 run HR. So so bad

Bases loaded with 1 out but of course it’s Bo Naylor and Rocchio up to hack pop outs and produce not a single run
I’ll give Bo a pass after having the game winning HR last night.

Agreed, they’re just in a funk as a team right now. A split with Minny is huge tho. Could’ve been a lot worse with how first (2) games of the series went.

In modern baseball (since new relief pitching rules) this is still the best BP I’ve seen hands down.

I could go without seeing Sandlin again in any remotely important situation though speaking of the BP. Guy has been terrible lately

Great win considering we were down 3-0 after 5 innings.

Was frustrating to see BP give up the lead, but keep in mind, they were saving arms today.

Happy to see Clase get back on track.

Also, not sure what it is…..but since Will Brennan came back, it seems team just wins more. Whether he’s starting or not, it just seems he’s special in the dugout….
