Cleveland Guardindians 2024 (Thread of Apathy)

The other thing too is, we've spent a year with them now and you kinda get a feel for their intangibles. Its obviously not like assholes don't end up being good players but organizationally they have a personality profile they're looking for.
Maybe more like personality traits they aren't.

Yea and if there is one thing I trust this organization on too it's their ability to evaluate and develop pitchers.

The guy they gave up for Cobb wasn't even a consensus top 30 prospect. I keep seeing people get hung up on "WELL THEY PAID HIM SO MUCH OVER SLOT MONEY!" but that happens all the time, teams take stabs at guys who's measurables they like and sign them for over slot to get them to sign, it's normal and normal for it to not work out and for them to quickly move on. Guy was a 13th round pick who scouts had rated as like the 400th best prospect in that draft. Guys from those positions can make it every so often but its not likely.

It's well worth it in a low risk potentially decent reward trade for a guy like Cobb. If it doesnt work out, whatever. If it does great.

I do think they probably gave up a little too much for Thomas, but again I don't think it really potentially hurts us in the long run.

Of course I said all that stuff and watch them bring back Trevor Bauer.

(They're not doing that)

Welp after winning those first 2 over Baltimore they are now about to lose 3 in a row with the bullpen blowing it tonight and Minnesota could be down to 3.5 games back after the night is over

The collapse continues as they lose game 1 of todays DH to the Twins 4-2. 6th straight loss

Team just looks out of whack, especially the offense, guys going up there just hacking at anything.

The lead is down to 2.5 games.

I think they’ll regain form but it’s definitely been disappointing to see them lose form last 2 weeks.

It’s like they went from championship mode to protect their division mode.

They need to loosen up and start playing again….they seem tight to me. Like they’re playing to protect a playoff spot.

Fuck that…go out there and play like you’re the best team in the league.

Took a 3-2 lead but then Vogt leaves Cobb who was clearly spent in too long and he gives up 3 2 out hits ending in a 3 run HR. Vogt is on a streak of very poor decision making these past few weeks
