These "shooting" fouls have gotten ridiculous. He was never going to actually shoot from half court there. You shouldn't need a rule change for refs to exercise common sense.

Yep he basically felt contact and decided to just throw it up. Thats the "rule" currently though so gotta be smarter if youre the defense.

I don't buy that. Flailing your arms up when you anticipate a whistle isn't necessarily an "act of shooting" foul. The refs just don't want to call it for what it is, similar to when there's "no call" when one guy runs over another - it has to be a foul on someone. Gutless officiating.
