Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Toronto tried to close out on Cleveland shooters which left lanes wide open. Then Cleveland knocks down a couple of threes to start the second and those lanes turned into floodgates. Shump and JR's dunks really were the highlights of the night for me, couple with Kyrie's crossover and LeBron nearly deflating a ball on the rim. Hell, even Delly was knocking down 3s and creating his own shot off the dribble. Carroll has a limited offensive repertoire but he becomes absolutely useless when he has to chase LeBron around. If not for DeRozan's shooting in the first this would have been far worse. And by the second half Lowry looked like he wanted to be anywhere else. He is so bipolar right now...he's either an all-star who can be Westbrook-light or he can't hit water falling out of a boat.

Cleveland KILLED them on the glass. KILLED them on the fast break. KILLED them at the free throw line. KILLED them in the paint. This game was actually more enjoyable than Game 2 of the Hawks series for me because Cleveland pretty much destroyed them in every facet of the game.

I'm back to my original prediction...no Valanciunas and this series is over in 4. And I don't think he would even matter at this point.

In taking control of LeBron, Tyronn Lue has created a monster in Cleveland

The monster that has been unleashed here in the Eastern Conference finals didn't just wake up and start stomping around when the postseason began. The seeds were planted long before.

And it happened at a time when all of us -- myself included -- were paying attention to the wrong things.

The first instinct when the Cleveland Cavaliers fired David Blatt in January despite a recent trip to the NBA Finals and an East-leading 30-11 record was, "What?" But we were focused on what the Cavs were doing, not on what they weren't doing. They were winning, but not the right way.

Yeah, I know the "NBA Coach Of The Year' is for the regular season. However, if Cleveland goes on to win the NBA Championship I think that's a definite validation that Lue dramatically changed the "culture" on the Cavaliers team for the better, etc. I'm not saying that Kerr didn't deserve the award (i.e. 73 wins); but in the "NBA Coach Of The Year" voting Lue didn't even get one 3rd place vote:

Warriors' Kerr named 2015-16 NBA Coach of the Year

If the Cavs shoot 50% from 3pt range instead of 7-20, they win by 40. If they play even at 90% of the way they did yesterday, Golden State or Oklahoma City will be lucky to not get swept...

Anyone remember when people were bitching about the Cavs relying too much on the 3 back against the Pistons? This series is what happens when you try to take away the 3. I almost think the Raptors would be better off protecting the rim and force the Cavs to prove they are going to shoot like they did against the Hawks. Problem for anyone is the Cavs have so many shooters that someone is bound to be on any given night. If you guard the shooters Lebron gets 14 points in the paint and 17 FT's. Doesn't make since that the East playoffs have gotten easier every round.

Considering how disjointed they were playing before playoffs, I think it makes a lot of sense from a confidence and chemistry standpoint.
It's shaping up be a great Finals series for the NBA.
