Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

So it sounds like we really need to hope that the Cavs hit the lottery again and get in the top 3 picks with Beal as a fall back if they don't. On the bright side they got the PG last year since this seems to be a weak year for PG's. The Cavs really need to pull one superstar out of this draft and another project that might not be ready now, but will be in a year or two. If they don't get Drummond with the first pick I would look really hard at Fab Melo with the first 2nd round pick and maybe even the Lakers pick if he shows well in the pre-draft work. Having 2 Brazilian centers can't be bad right? I'd also give Green from MSU a good look with the other 2nd rounder. I'm sure Gilbert would like to have a fellow Spartan on the team.

fab melo won't make it to the lakers pick, let alone the 2nd round. centers get overdrafted. the roy hibbert effect will only amplify that in the future.

KI's injury helps explain them only scoring 10 points in the final period. I guess Gilbert tweeted after the game about them looking so bad and the fans deserving better. Uh, yea, this is exactly what most fans want. They want to get the best pick possible for the lottery. I don't like seeing a beat down like last night but the losses are needed to have more than a mediocre, 6 or 7 seed in the playoffs.

It was a pretty good night overall since Sacramento, Nj, Dallas and the Clippers won. The Cavs are now in the sixth spot, one game ahead of NJ and a game and a half ahead of the Raptors. On the other side, the Lakers are in the sixth spot, half a game ahead of Indiana, a game ahead of the Hawks and Clippers.

It doesn't sound like the injury was too bad, ,which is good, but I imagine Scott will sit him for a game or two.

Any chance the Wizards or Hornets can make it to 17 wins this year? If the Cavs can lose the rest of the season, doubtful as it is, both teams would get to at least 14 wins so they would just need a few more to equal the Cavs 17.

I'm not counting on it. The Bullets have been better since their trades but I'd be surprised if they caught the Cavs.

After Toronto's win last night, they are tied with the Cavs in winning percentage. That puts the Cavs at #4 which would be a great place to be if they can stay there, going into the lottery.

At that spot, most likely the worst they would pick is #5. On the other hand, they have a good chance to move into the top three. How sweet would it be for this franchise if they could somehow win the lottery and get Davis ? At the 4 spot, it's not that far-fetched at all. My fingers are crossed.

the way things appear to be shaping up, it's entirely possible cleveland will have to make the choice between andre drummond and brad beal. normally i'd jump on the center and not look back, but drummond has high bust potential, whereas beal would appear to be a safer pick. however, if they have a deal on the table for AV, they take Drummond. In a perfect world, they get a late lotto pick for AV or so and snare terrance ross after drafting drummond.

I'd gladly take those two. You always worry about a big being a bust, but they are harder to find, so how do you decide when to take a chance? At least if they took Drummond, it will take him a while to get going so we should still have a decent pick in the 2013 draft to add some wings.

I just noticed Drummonds ft %: 29% ? Ugh! We drafted TT as a horrible ft shooter and he has definitly improved but I wouldn't hold my breath that it could happen again.

How about if we're going to take a chance on a C, then we pick Melo with the Lakers pick and Beal with our pick ? Alot of this will depend on how these guys play in their pre-draft workouts.

I gotta admit, I'm happy Grant is doing the drafting and not me. There are alot of good players and alot of question marks.

I see Buford keeps dropping in all the mocks but if he did fix the flaw in his release like he said, I'd gladly take a shot on him in round 2.

Cavs lose to the Spurs tonight by thirty five points, and get out rebounded forty-six to twenty-seven. With Toronto winning tonight, the Cavs are now in the fourth spot. The mock drafts should start looking really appealing:biggrin:

Anyone else huge Wizards and Hornets fans right now? Looking at Washington's schedule they have a chance to catch us as long as the Cavs don't win again. Cavs twice, Bobcat's twice, then they would just need one more. The Hornets on the other hand probably don't have a chance to win 4 more. At least all the teams that are now lower than us in the lottery have at least 2 more wins so we have a small margin of error.

Yea, I could live with that one too.

Now that they're in the #4 spot, they have near a 38% chance to move into the top three. The possibility of getting to number one is no longer that far-fetched. On the other side, they have around an 82 % chance to pick in the top five. While we all would love Davis, getting a top five player would be sweet.

Davis
Kidd-gilchrist
Beal
Drummond

I won't put Robinson there because he's not an upgrade over TT (IMO).

I'll be glad when this season is over because I'm not sure how much more I can watch of a lineup that has Casspi, Walton, Parker and Erden in it. It sicken us me to watch that garbage out there. I'd rather see 40 minutes of TT getting better and Gee getting more consistent. The sight of Parker out there just pisses me off.
