I guess I do not understand because of Cleveland would have kicked the extra point it would have been game over.

It wouldn't have been "game over" considering it would've been 21-16 and over 8 minutes were left on the clock. Also, if Cleveland kicks there, Denver would've gone for two and had they made it there would still be overtime. Of course, had they failed Cleveland wins in regulation.

The bottom line is by going for two when they didn't have to Cleveland enabled Denver to just kick the XP. It was a bad decision, courtesy of "the card" (which should be shredded).
