Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

In no particular order.

- Neil Ferrall
- Alex Pierce
- Travis Jones
- Jaquan Brisker
- Damarri Mathis
- David Bell
- Donovan West

Some mid - late round wish list stuff. Weird the draft no longer feeling like the Brownies Superbowl.

I'd like to see Haskell Garrett in the mid rounds. DL is the biggest need, but WR and the other two units on defense are holes. I typically don't like kickers and punters in the draft, but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up with one of those.

I think the Watson trade looks better now seeing that all 3 WR's that I wanted were gone before the Browns pick and the QB class this year is garbage. Hopefully today is the day to see if they can unload Baker. There are a lot of teams out there relying on shittier QB's than him.

If the Browns want to go WR in the second round, they'll probably have to move up to get their guy. George Pickens and Skyy Moore seem to best fit the athletic and age profile Berry tends to go for in the early rounds but I think they'll be taken very quickly tonight. Otherwise looking at someone like Logan Hall, Drake Jackson or David Ojabo at 44 or maybe even a trade down to accrue some more draft capital.

It would be a dream scenario to get a 2nd or 3rd for Baker. Just don't see that happening though, unless it's a future pick.

Still a lot of WR and IDL depth out there to be had. So the priority might end up on the edge. Wouldn't be thrilled with Ojabo. Drake Jackson and Logan Hall would be a more lukewarm sort of 'wait and see'.

Edge talent in this class, IMHO, doesn't match the hype.

Is Walker or Hutch any better than either Bosa boys? Me thinks not.

I'll just take a guess...
somebody has made initial offer for Baker... so Browns get some cap space.. go back after Jarvis and Clowney
Browns use addl picks to bag some OL backups

I will take guess.

Panthers don't have another pick till 137.

They get Baker Mayfield, one of these 3rds (Maybe 2) for a future 2nd and a 4th this year

Ranking the 10 worst draft picks in the history of the NFL and Cleveland had 3 of them:

TIM COUCH, QB, KENTUCKY - CLEVELAND BROWNS (1999)

TRENT RICHARDSON, RB, ALABAMA - CLEVELAND BROWNS (2012)

JOHNNY MANZIEL, QB, TEXAS A&M - CLEVELAND BROWNS (2014)

Any list that has Tim Couch as one of the 10 worst picks of all time is a joke. Maybe he was a bad pick for an expansion team that had no ability to protect him, but he was the best QB the Browns have drafted since they returned. Playing behind that swiss cheese OL broke him. I don't even think he would make a bottom 10 list for the Browns over the past 25 years. Their drafts have been that bad. Couch is a lesson to not start off your expansion team with a 1st round QB. Probably should have moneyballed the pick into more picks.

I can think of 10 Browns picks way worse than Tim Couch

Any Browns list that doesn't feature Mike Junkin prominently isn't being serious.... Dude was 1. A bust, 2. a top 5 pick, and 3. was a "why the fuck would you take that guy?" type selection.

Couch on the other hand was pretty much the consensus guy to take at #1, started 59 games and got his team to the playoffs. (And if I'm being honest, if the Browns take McNabb #1 and Couch goes to the Eagles and Andy Reid, it doesn't take much imagination to think its plausible that Couch gets the chunky soup commercials and NFC championship game losses and McNabb ends up unfairly on these lists)
