Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

LOL. Um, no.

Umm...yes. Especially given his first year in a new offense and not having a vertical threat like Tyreek or Kelce? Kid has all the tools.

Don't be a fool.

'LOL'.

edit: To further my point. First year of an offense with a slowing Kellan Allen, a good Mike Williams and no above average TE threat. He is also playing behind an average oline that lacks a real consistent running game. Not to knock Eckler, he's a fine player. But I'm not going to run an IZ with him 20 times a game.

Impressive stuff. Their coaching staff puts the offense on his shoulders starting the first week of this season and the Chargers are in 1st place. Yes, he could very well be that damn good.

I’m starting to join the camp that Mayfield simply isn’t good enough to achieve the ultimate goal. It was pretty evident with the play calling down the stretch. He’s just not good enough to make the big time throws that elite QBs in the NFL do with regularity.

In Bakers defense, the coaching staff didn't really put in him a position to make a couple of those throws. Almost like they're scared to let me try for fear of a turnover.
Look how open the middle of the field was for Njoku a couple times after Baker hit OBJ outside.

I think it's a two-fold issue. There are days you get the bad Baker, wanna-be gunslinger who can make questionable reads and throws.
Then you attempt to reel him in a bit TOO much, he plays within control, maybe makes a couple good gun-slinger throws and you get a good Baker.
But you never fully unleash him enough trying not to setup your QB to harm your team.

Ultimately today isn't on the offense. They put up 40+. Today is on the defense. There's clearly a LOT of injuries and, as I pointed out, a couple personnel choices that are holding this unit back
from using a few different calls. I can't run much 2 high with Harrison playing a half field. Guy just isn't built for that mentally or physically. And we didn't have the corners to run the 3 shell we have the last few weeks.

Oh, a fool? What are you? Twelve? You might not be totally objective. I’ve seen them both play. I’ll stand by my assessment.

Please stop all of this ad hominem crap in the football threads. This is a trend and it really need to stop. There are lots of other sites just dying to have "I said, you said" nonsense and it is a core value of BP that we don't.

Someone has a different opinion? Fine. State your opinion and back it up with some evidence to support it, while avoiding insulting another member. Want to argue and insult one another? Please take it to PMs.

Tell your boy then. I stated my opinion, short of posting game logs, I actually offered substance to my post. But I'll be happy to do stats and film review just so you're not targeting me with any ad hominem talk.
