How little fact could there be? The roster IS dog[Mark May] and pussies. As for improving the situation, the dog[Mark May] and pussies either improve or get cut. Win-win. Get better or addition by subtraction. The perception of the FO is what it is. They’ve earned all of it. It is reality.

Saying "real NFL players" is horseshit. Garrett, if he can stay healthy, appears like the #1 he was drafted to be, Shon Coleman is a starter, Schobert is a starter, Ogunjobi was flashing some talent before his injury, Njoku has done the same. Ogbah is a starter and hell, even Corey Coleman along side Josh Gordon looks like a decent #2 receiver. Am I still pissed we passed on Wentz and Michael Thomas? Yeah, but to essentially call these players worthless is unprofessional, douchey, and sets a bad tone for a brand new GM.

I ask this honestly, what upside do these comments have? I've thought about it and I've yet to find any.

I have no disagreement here. I’m thinking more about the whole roster (which, I guess wouldn’t apply to the previous regime.) Hell, the previous regime hardly drafted anyone, they just acquired picks which were used to acquire more picks. I would argue that the Browns shouldn’t be happy with “a decent #2 receiver” from the first round. That can be gotten in the mid rounds by a competent FO. Passing on Wentz (which Indidn’t mind at the time - and was completely wrong on) is going to lose a GM on any QB needy team his job, though, and rightfully so.

If he had substituted “elite” or “game-changing” for “real” then I don’t think anyone could have an argument. Garrett is the only elite talent they have drafted at a critical position, but unfortunately durability is part of any player eval, and I see no evidence that he has any.

See, how you phrased that is perfectly acceptable. Meanwhile we have GM with noted "communication" issues from KC displaying, well, just that.

A positive is that Dorsey has a history of not being totally incompetent. Sashi has no history of being even suited for the job to begin with. Of course, neither does DePodesta (when it comes to football) which comes back to this FO deserving the reputation of shit show that is currently bestowed upon them.

Or, you could say that he excelled at being a scout, but basically failed at the management portion of the GM role by making bad contract extensions, getting KC into a bad cap mess and alienating those around him.

They've lost 46 of their last 50 games. Forty-six of fifty. That's 92% of their last 50 games ending with an "L." Who cares if some of them have their feelings hurt? They suck, and he said as much. He said they've brought in the wrong kind of players, and the results are the proof. What's the upside? Maybe it lights a fire under some of these turds to prove him wrong.

Right now, aside from probably Garrett (if he can stay healthy) and Joe Thomas (and at this point/age, I can't even say him for sure), there isn't one player on this roster that is irreplaceable. Some nice/decent parts? Sure. But who is a star other than Thomas/Garrett?

Bitonio could start anywhere

Here’s the thing, if Gordon stays off the purple drank, the offense sets up nicely next year if the can add a decent 3rd option at receiver. You have a line that is strong at 4 spots, a young stud TE that is a mismatch in the passing game (he had best work on his blocking) and then Gordon, Coleman, and either Duke in the slot, or Duke as a primary back and a 3rd receiver in FA. Crow leaves, but they can get Barkley or someone else in the draft or sign somebody.

Add a QB like Alex Smith, and that’s a respectable offense until the #1 pick is ready.

I'm usually very realistic and when it comes to the Browns that means pessimism. However the line is there, even if Gordon goes back to the drank, the receiving corps and RB CAN be there. The defense has taken a step forward but needs a more consistent pass rush. Per usual, this boils down to the Browns just drafting smart. IF (a big IF) they do that then yes, there is some hope to be found with this team. But what little there is will all be gone if they go nuclear and then draft someone like Baker Mayfield.

P.S. Alex Smith to the Browns is pretty likely now.

Would love to see this. To me they wouldn't need to draft a QB opening up draft spots for other needs. Certainly grabbing Barkley would be a good pick. This could give them a chance to work with some of the young QBs they have to actually improve them.

Still going to need to get a different coach. I will probably get shot for saying this, but I would be okay with retreading Schwartz and bringing in a good OC.

Oh they’re drafting a QB...but then they wouldn’t have to ruin him if they get Smith
