Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Make it stop
"All the Cleveland writers agree with me Jony Foosball was fantastic and is clearly the better QB, after he starts against Washington the competition will be over"

I didn't see anything close to this in the preseason game...

I was clearly impressed with some of those jump pass, check downs Manziel threw. Brady Quinn just went to the outlet RB. With Money Badger you get a cool little fairy jump to make it special.

I am right there with you I didn't see anything that made me go "Wow"....I mean he has a "Live Arm" right...he just brings a "Spark" to the team right...he "finds ways to make plays" right....

Am I right....

Is there any doubt that one way of the other both of these guys will start at QB for the Browns this year? I don't get the Manziel wow factor either. I guess we'll see how they look the next 2 weeks. I'm more interested in seeing Crowell get some reps at RB rather than Lewis and Baker.

Yeah. You just know Ryan Shazier is gonna decapitate whichever poor bastard draws the short straw and has to start for this team.

That would be the case with Manziel since rookies are always a little slow in making reads. I think Hoyer has shown the ability to get rid of the ball quickly although like most Browns QB's seems to check down a little early.

ESPN alert just popped up, quoting Pettine as saying that "signing Grossman does not make Hoyer expendable". Now as it's ESPN I'm sure it's twisted and taken out of context, but I imagine that barring injury, the decision has already been made.

Why would Hoyer be expendable? If Manziel starts I don't see him being healthy for the whole season and Grossman wouldn't give me much of a comfort level. Now if they name Manziel starter and someone offers me some crazy trade for Hoyer because their QB tore his ACL in the preseason I'd listen. Personally I'd love to see Hoyer end his career in Cleveland even if it's as the backup.

Kyle Shanahan - no more needs to be said.

Story is linked. I don't think he would be, unless a) you only want to carry 2 QBs, and b) you want a backup that doesn't expect to play and the fans won't want to see play. Both of which I guess are possible if you read the story, but only the coaches know for sure.
