I've been touting Honey Badger for months and been put on blast...Though small he has an uncanny ability to make plays on the ball...If be slips down to the fourth, without question do I take him...

I think taking him in the 4th is too early IMO, but at that point it's all about filling needs rather than BPA...

As far as Campbell, at least he fits the mold for this offense...I think Weeden may flourish in a more vertical offense...Shurmer was bullheaded and would not adapt the offense to tailor his players skillset....The WCO is dead! It died with Bill Walsh damn it! I remember liking Campbell coming out of college...I like him as a backup alot more than the Brady Quinn's and Seneca Wallace's of the world...

Chucky and Rich Gannon got to the Super Bowl using the Bill Walsh WCO...just sayin....the WCO isn't the problem, the walking colostomy bag that was the head coach was....

Still, the lack of quality DB signings scares as well as Baltimore signing Huff and Dumervil...Things like that seem to always work out for the Ratbirds where we would
undoubtedly fail...Oh by the way, if we draft Geno Smith I am f**kin done!

with the DBs, they've said they weren't going to spend more than half of their cap space this year and I believe they are basically set minus a few more minor additions.

After I posted, I remember the Raiders going to the SB under a WCO...I said before saving half the cap for next year is smart but would have liked to get a quality DB to have more flexibility with the #6..

A reach for what? A guy who we all know can ball regardless of position? And has added value in the return game? We are all "WISHING" he goes in the 4th or 5th, but realistically with him continuing to rise, he is probably going to go in the third and possibly late 2.

As poor as this draft is and how it has so many questions, IMO, he is one of the few sure things its not hard to see he can flat out ball and at worst he could be a really good nickle corner and returner at best, he could be Asante Samuel

A reach for a guy who couldn't control his drug issues long enough IN COLLEGE to stay in school, much less eligible.

A guy who is very small for a safety, isn't fast enough to play corner and who has questionable coverage skills.

There we're several times where he was not "balling" against AJ McCarron whom exposed his physical stature; or in this case, lack of.

As Nutria pointed out - sometimes he can play rather undisciplined. Did he makes plays in his college career? Yes. Many of those however were on special teams or forcing turnovers. Very few times did he make game changing moves in coverage.

edit: As I've said before. Unless your last name is Winfield - I will always be skeptical of a 5'8 CB.

When I watch Tyrone Mathieu I see Ed Reed...I would love for us to draft him in the third or move up into the second...Also does anyone have any thoughts on Anthony Spencer from the Cowboys in free agency...Pass rushing LB would fill a major need...Not sure if the 'Boys tagged him or not...

Well you go ahead and stay "SAFE" and continue to get what you have been getting for the past 13 years....

Plus they did play good offenses....Oregon? West Virginia? Georgia? Arkansas?...

Also he actually reminds me of another New Orleans guy, Aeneas Williams who played both CB and FS

Honey Badger couldn't carry Aeneas Williams' jock strap. Now if he works hard enough and stays out of trouble, he could eventually get somewhere near that level...there are however legitimate questions about both of those things.

And you're still falling short in your "ability" argument.

He's also had the privilege of playing next to Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne and behind a nasty pass rush.

There is nothing about the "SAFE" comment that indicates the Browns drafts of the past 13 years. Soldier boy wasn't a "Safe" pick. Neither was was Braylon or Quinn - look how that rewarded the Browns!!

Only recently (with Heckert) have we taken productive, "safe" college picks - that have in turn, really produced at the next level. Joe Thomas being the obvious exclusion from the previous regime from 07. Billy Winn, TJ Ward, Alex Mack, Schwartz, Sheard. All players that produced at a consistent level in their college careers with few red flags that came with draft value.

Taking a player like Matheiu in a higher round isn't being a badass and taking a smart risk. Again, especially considering his physical stature.

This isn't Josh Gordon we're talking about here. Whom is a big, fast, physical WR with questionable off field antics.

This is an undersized player with serious odds against being a starter that also has off field issues.

So, you go ahead while the Browns hopefully do "play it safe".

Yeah the second is too high for Tyrann, but I wouldn't hesitate pulling the trigger on him if yes there in the third....What has TJ Ward did since his rookie year..Ill answer that, not Jack s**t...Do you really believe Chris Owens or Kevin Barnes will make a difference...Honey Badger just simply makes plays..I take the risk..

He made some big plays, but he also looked worse than dog shit on more occasions than ESPN cared to show. I don't have a problem with the Browns taking a chance on him, but not until much later than the third.. you can still get some contributors with a third.

I agree that he is a football player. But I don't think he's that good of a football player (in regards to the NFL).
