The guy does well early, having the clowns grab Sammy Watkins. Then goes full retard and has them picking Tajh Boyd with the Colts' pick. I look at Tajh Boyd, and I see Troy Smith. Great college QB...though Troy actually beat his rivals, too many negatives to be a good pro. I'm willing to bet he ends up slipping hard in the draft after the combine and lands somewhere in round 3-5.

Most of the Mock Drafts I've looked at have been all over the place with the exception of the Browns taking a QB in the 1st or early 2nd round. Ditto with the Troy Smith comparison of Taj Boyd. Very good college QB whose skill set doesn't translate well to the NFL. Besides losing the rest of their games, there is no telling what the FO will do in FA or the draft. With the exception of a CB, LB, and S on defense, this draft should be offense heavy specifically the skill positions.

While I'm skeptical about signing Josh Gordon long term, there is no denying he is a top 5 receiver in the NFL. Question is do you pay the guy what he is worth?

Offer him a back-loaded contract, much like what the Cardinals did with Honey boo boo. Large bonus for going a full year without suspension/violation etc etc.

At this point I'd take that Evans kid from Aggie; Watkins and Lee have too many injury concerns for my taste and I love the idea of being able to flex Cameron out wide and still having a TE threat down the seam. Our pass rush of late has been concerning. For all the noise we heard about Kruger being a pass rush specialist only, he's been solid against the run and an average pass rusher. He gets decent push but rarely gets home. I'm still questioning why we don't see more
4 down pass obvious looks consisting of Mingo, Sheard, Bryant and Kruger in that sequence.

Safety has been the least of my concerns. Gipson has been a pleasant surprise. Is he Ed Reed? No. However he's not the liability in coverage that someone like an Abe Elam was just short time ago. The #1 need on defense should be a #2CB and ILB. RB, RT and any play maker on offense would really go a long way to helping when Hoyer returns healthy.

I realize that this guy has Carr going to the Vikings before our pick, but, given this as a choice where I had to pick between the two, I'd take Carr and Lee over Boyd and Watkins....

Sure, pay the guy what he's worth, but it needs to be non-guaranteed money. He's not as big of a risk as people make it sound like as long as he's on the right contract.

When talking about the draft, you might want to keep this in mind. Maybe not necessarily in the first round but Jackson is a big cap hit as is Rubin next year.

DQ – Cap Number - $8.1m ($2.6m base, $5.5 bonus)
Ahtyba Rubin – Cap Number - $8.1M ($6.6m base, $1.5 bonus).

Also if Mariotta is available when we pick,, I would take him with our very first pick.

I can see maybe them saying they could get Rubin's job done cheaper... but, they just signed Jackson and even with those commitments they are like 20 million under BEFORE the carry over.

I am trying to remember if it is the current regime that had Jackson re-signed or the former ones. He is starting to get a little long in the tooth but I know that both he and Rubin are both leaders. Perhaps they would restructure. I know that we have a lot of money to spend but I am also wondering how many free agents are going to want to come to Cleveland.

You're gonna have to wait until the 2015 draft then, he announced he's coming back.

Also Metzwhateverthehellhisnameis tore his ACL... shoe in for the Browns #1 pick

Sad about Mariotta, not that I would want him for the Browns, but the more QBs available the better chance the guy the front office picks will be available. Also sad it sounds like Hundley is comming back too.

Scary thing... I have now seen Mettenberger popping up as the Browns 2nd 1st round pick more and more...

him tearing his ACL is perfect for the browns as they can now draft him in the 2nd round and sit him for a whole year behind hoyer with no chance of knee jerk reactions of throwing him out there after cleveland inevitably starts 1-3 next season.

I just saw a mock today with him going to the Browns with their first pick. I laughed a little. I'll give the front office the benefit of the doubt that they won't go full retard.
