Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

Josh Gordon has the potential to be a Dez Bryant type-franchise receiver. I could understand the reasoning to deal him with his personal problems and being one chug of sizzurp from a year-long hiatus, but it's been a long time since they've had an offensive threat like him. Get him a damn baby-sitter. He and Cameron have the potential to be a very formidable duo to build around. I wouldn't deal him. That said, if they wanted to send him on to the Niners, I wouldn't bicker. 8D

The same reasoning saw the Reds trade Josh Hamilton for Edinson Volquez and a midget knuckleballer.

Bad teams that suck at identifying talent can't afford to talk themselves out keeping good players.

I think they you know that if they do trade Gordon. It is not so much about talent as this about their concern over him getting another cough this off-season
and what the hell is up with Joe Thomas. He has probably more penalties this year than any other Browns offensive lineman. I know that holding is pretty objective but he has had a lot out false starts also this season.

Thought we traded picks for him...
No. He was a free-agent signing and got about 5.5 million signing bonus. He also signed a pretty nice contract with some guaranteed money.
my mistake:
6. When the Browns traded for Bess, they gave the former Miami receiver a four-year, $11.4 million deal, with $5.75 million guaranteed. With only 28 catches -- and those drops -- he's having the worst season of his seven-year career. He's 28, so age should not be an issue. Bess is not fast. His value is catching the ball.

I don't think the Browns are working the phones to unload players. Teams that are looking for players are making calls. With the exception of Little or Weeden the only way the Browns do anything is if someone wants to go full retard for one of their players like the Colts did for Richardson. They aren't going to trade a young very productive player like Gordon for anything less than a slam dunk trade that they can spin as not tanking the season.
