I do not think it is going to be pretty against Kansas City. He can barely run anymore but neither can Weeden so it is not going to make any difference. At least he will not try any underhand passes… at least I think he will not

I am really interested to see what they do next week, actually. The conspiracy theorist in me says that someone still wants Weeden to play, so they are sending Campbell out, on the road against what they know is the world's best pass rush, so that he implodes and they say "See, we told you Weeden was our best chance" and then go back to Weeden. We shall see.

Oh, the problem is Weeden may indeed be our "best" chance, much in the same way Rick Allen is the "best" one armed drummer in the world.

At least we can do a soup name game next week....

there was a post on the premium section of OBR that stated in film review of this past week, that there were 18-22 plays "left on the field" solely because of poor execution on the part of the offense. some were at the hands of wr's like bess's drop, little's wrong route, and gordon making no effort for that pass on 4th down. a few were rb errors, but the bulk was weeden missing open guys, reads, or delivering the ball way too late. it got to the point that he was demoralizing the team with his play, so they had to give him the hook.

yeah, you cannot blame the whole offensive production against Green Bay on Weeden because there was enough inefficiency to spread some of it around but the majority of it landed squarely on him. I think if they did not make a change for the Kansas City game they might have lost the locker room if they have not already.

I cannot remember if Lewis was a free agent or if the Browns just let him go and what regime made the decision because he is doing pretty well in Buffalo considering what we have.

Didn't he already try that in his 5 plays against the Ravens? I'm not holding out much hope, but it all comes down to seeing the field and getting rid of the ball. If he can do that better than Weeden the offense will look better.

The Browns need to sign another QB ASAP to at least start learning the system. If they can find anyone that will take Weeden off their hands they need to pull the trigger just get him out of the locker room. You can see that his confidence is shot after the past 2 games so all he'll be now is a cancer.

They let Lewis walk because they had 3 guys. Most people didn't expect Weeden to be this bad last spring and even if they did you aren't going to cut a first round pick the year before without giving him a shot in your new offense that should have been a perfect fit for him. When they signed Campbell it was to be the worse case scenario QB. They knew what his bad was, but they didn't know what Weeden's was. So far Weeden's bad seems to be a lost worse that Campbell has ever shown so now he gets a shot. The Browns OL is good enough that a QB with decent vision and a quick release should be able to get the job done.

Yes, they are banking (assuming they want him to succeed) on him making quicker decisions. Hell with guys like Gordon and Cameron, the throws don't have to be perfect...but they have to be on time and somewhere in the vicinity, neither of which describes 95% of Weeden's passes. Stafford is a good example...not the greatest accuracy, but just throw the fucker and see if someone can go get it. We have the guys to do that (assuming they don't trade them in the next 6 days).

When the QB can't execute his job at even a remotely professional level, displays poor leadership qualities and slouches all the time - you can't expect your
offensive guys to respond with their best possible play.

That said, that isn't to shield blame from other players as well. They all have a hand in it. However it begins with the QB. Look at average wide receivers and
running backs that play their hearts out for a superior QB. Hell, look at the average players Peyton Manning elevated with his play - Knowshon Moreno, Austin Collie, Brandon Stokley, Joel Dressen. Tom Brady with half of the WR's he's ever had...

They play harder with a QB they feel they respect and works just as hard. Field General is a term often used and not properly understood - because that's just what it is, a battle-hardened leader. Average players, in their minds, are convinced they can be better while playing under a good QB. Its a placebo of sorts, but it does work.

Bess who has been quite sure-handed in his NFL tenure is dropping the ball. Gordon not high-pointing a catch even though he's done so before. The Oline not executing and maintaining blocking intensity. All a by product of the below average play of the QB. It effects the entire team.

Maybe with Campbell the team responds? I've said it before, all this team needs is a QB who won't turn the ball over and make some smart decisions. The defense has been playing at an elite level at times. Granted the first two drives Green Bay mounted last week were embarrassing - they made up for it until they had been on the field so long.

Weeden's comments on how this was still "his team" - can be taken two ways. The second way may have indicated he's a bit cancerous to his own locker-room. I'm not in there, so I wont know. But the same players that were executing for Hoyer have not done the same for our 1st round QB. To me, that speaks volumes.

I can think of about 10 off the top of my head, and I watched the 2nd half at the gym. (but, back to my earlier point that it can't be acceptable)
