Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

My bad. Apparently Jackson is around 245. For some reason I always felt he was a little smaller than that. Well then, yes he belongs inside in that case. I guess JMJ will be next to him with Robertson on passing downs.

I'm just excited to see if Emmanuel Acho can play outside. This whole season lost from injury was a bit of a disappointment.

Jackson is what? Around 230??

And how does Werner look unfavorable as a
Rush end?? You felt Sheard could play this role.
Werner will probably have equivalent measurables
At the combine.

yes, sheard could play outside on the strong side, like woodley, which would still require a pass rusher on the other side.

besides, weren't you the one that thought that sheard wasn't fluid enough to play OLB in the 3-4? yet you're advocating drafting his german stunt double who has the same physical characteristics? seems odd.

I don't believe Sheard is fluid enough in space to consistently play a zone (depending on zone) so.... no. Can he rush the passer from his spot? Sure, no doubt.

Werner appears to have a much faster first step than Sheard and it wouldn't surprise me at all if his 10/20 yard splits and shuttle at the combine are better too. Physically they have similar measurables. I just think Werner is a bit more athletic of a player. Not that I'm saying that necessarily makes a better football player.

I'm speaking from a pass rushing standpoint - I'm not aware of his abilities in coverage, but I feel he could be effective from a standup.

If he isn't available the only other player I might take a chance on is Jones. That medical history is concerning. Moore, Jordan and Mingo are just too risky.

edit: That said I'd still take Milliner over them. CB is a glaring weakness and I've really warmed up to the idea of him.

Not having him doesn't bother me. We have nobody that
Could get him the ball. Plus had we made that pick, it means
No Phil Taylor - which would have made this interior Dline
Butter soft.

It should. If the Browns take him two years ago and Colt fails again, the push to get a QB looms much larger and there is no Brandon Weeden being 29 and throwing game-ending Bauserbombs when he needs to keep them in-bounds for anyone to have a chance.

Meh. I can see that argument. But, Julio Jones is special. Phil Taylor is good, but not special. Plus we never would have been subjected to this Weeden nonsense.

it's all about opportunity costs. atlanta ponied up a steep price to get jones, and really, they should have been bounced in their first playoff game each year if seattle doesn't shit the bed for no real reason. atlanta's defense is still soft and they can't run the ball effectively on a consistent basis. would they have been better served to use those picks to shore up their interior OL and keep their defense from being carved up?

or people are bitching about using the #6 pick on a wr only to have him get shurmurized and run a series of 5 yard outs on 3rd and 8.

the bottom line is that cleveland was in the midst of a total gutting of their roster and getting rid of old useless players. they were saddled with the issue of not being able to spend much in FA. it kind of made the trade a no brainer for cleveland.
