In a majority of cases, quite possibly even with Richardson, I cannot blame this outfit for letting players go. What I fault them for is the inability to identify players through the draft, develop them, get productivity from them, and put a decent product on the field. Especially on offense. I've posted this before, but in now their 15th year, they have TWICE put something resembling an NFL offense on the field, and once (2007) was against one of the weakest schedules a team has ever had to navigate. Here's the numbers of points scored in each year...
 217
 161 (
)
 285
 344
 254
 276
 232
 238
 402
 232
 245
 271
 218
 302
 16 (2 games)
So, in the 14 seasons coming into this year, they've averaged 261.5 points per season, or 16.3 ppg. Take away the 2007 outlier, it's 250.7 points per season, or 15.7 ppg. This year should fall right in that average barring a miracle. That is simply astounding. Not only have they put a bad product on the field for a decade and a half, it's also been an exceptionally boring product. I don't understand how anybody can support this sleep-inducing [Mark May] show anymore. They are the Prairie View A&M of the NFL.
