Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

I am getting so fucking (I don't use that word very often) of Weeden's inconsistency I could scream. I just don't know what they should do with him. I wonder what Colt's ratings would be this year with the surrounding cast that Weeden has this season. I don't think it could be much worse because I haven't seen anything spectacular from Weeden.

I think I also am pretty tired with our HC. During the course of a game, if he doesn't do more than one stupid thing you can count on him at least doing one. How many times in an NFL game has a spot challenge been won:huh: Shurmur wasted a challenge in the first half by challenging a Dallas spot. I also disagree with him calling a timeout as we approach the 2 minute mark at the end of the game. In my opinion, that was just stupid.

I have also come to the conclusion that with our #1 pick and maybe even with our #3 pick we should draft defensive backs. Most of the guys that we have might be good nickel backs or special teams players but they do not belong in the defensive backfield of the Browns. I guess I am okay with Ward but I did not even hear his name called it the first half and I thought he might be sitting for disciplinary reasons or something. I didn't hear his name in the second half so I guess he wasn't injured but besides him and Haden I don't think anyone else in our backfield would be a starter on another NFL team.

I guess I am just getting tired of seeing this team losing because of stupid game calling and penalties and just plain ineptness.

In case anyone was worried about what Shurmur thought about his team:

#Browns Shurmur on if there might be a culture of losing: "No. We've got a whole locker room full of winners...building full of winners.''

I have no words.

While I have no issue with Weeden (yet) this offense, this year - with him at the helm or Colt would be negligable. Perhaps, I pray to sweet baby Jesus, that we'll see some improvement next year. The play calling does nobody on the offense any favors.

Brandon was not a 'needed' pick. I would have been just fine taking Trent, Riley Reiff or perhaps Dont'a Hightower. Then seeing where the chips fell.

Like it or not, we still have at least another year before we find out anything meaningful from our signal caller. He's made some solid throws.
He's also made some terrible decisions. He had a stretch of a few good games but we also have to consider who those games we're against.

A lot of this will depend on how Brandon and this team finish the season.
Colt might not be an elite QB but he is certainly capable and a great backup. I think it would be rather poetic justice that his shoulder/arm finally gets back to 100% then step in in a desperate moment/injury only to demonstate that we never needed to draft another QB. As we know Cleveland has a small history of having better backup QB's then starters. (Thank you, Kelly Holmcomb)

The draft will be interesting. Especially without a 2nd rounder. We need the best defensive player available. I'd love for that to be a CB, but I just don't see any sure fire 1st rounders this year. Take our Dline, give them an elite pass rusher. Get a LB to replace Fujita and... well, who knows what else. Lord knows it wouldn't hurt to have a better FS. although Usama hasn't been the total shitbird that I thought he would be.

I think Dee Milliner would be worthy of a top five pick.

And if Denard wasn't such a terrible QB he'd have been beat for at least 2 TD's against scUM.

I've wondered what DB's would be available if we were to bundle some picks and get to the 2nd round.

He likes to hit, inconsistent tackling. What scares me is how he opens his hips so early and can't flip then recover.

I submit to you. 1:05 & 3:45 marks

That's just that game.
I've watched all the other videos on him that are up on youtube.

his performance against Texas A&M won't be in any highlight reels either. If you're looking at a cb in the 1st, Xavier Rhodes may be a better option.
