I know his drops and then not playing on the final drive almost certainly helped his draft stock with the Browns. That's not a good thing :smash:

I like Floyd and I think he would fit with the offense but picking at 4/5 is way to high and he will probably not be around by the time we have the ATL pick. No question we need a receiver and I would kind of like to go to the draft to find a #1, but Heckert said we will be players in FA this offseason. Some nice, proven names out there guys like Dwayne Bowe, Desean Jackson, Vincent Jackson, Pierre Garcon, among others. A lot/most of these guys will probably be retained by their teams and who knows if they will even want to come to Cleveland. I'd love to have a guy like Dwayne Bowe on the team, but I've been hearing that the Browns have a serious chance with Desean Jackson since Heckert drafted him and really likes him. Don't think I want him, too much drama and probably not worth the money we'd have to pay (though we should have plenty of cap room). But, he would immediately boost our WR corps and allow Greg Little to slide into the #2 role and someone like Norwood would make a nice slot receiver.

I'd take Jackson in a heartbeat. The Browns lack players who the defense have to account for. FSU, USC and Pitt accounted for Floyd this year and essentially shut him down. The teams that didn't (scUM, Sparty in particular) were beaten bad by him. He's probably closer to Michael Crabtree than any other WR currently in the NFL.

What do you guys think of RGIII? I'm not sold on him. Sure he is exciting and led BAYLOR (!!!!) to a 10 win season including wins over Texas and OU (down seasons for both, but still). But he is from the Big 12 (no defense), spread offense etc... and people like to make a big deal about his height, which I don't see as a huge deal but still a valid concern.

I'd take RGIII at this point, but I don't know if he's a QB in the NFL, certainly not as a 4th pick in the 1st round type of player unless he's going to play WR then I'd think about it.

Make no mistake the guy is a playmaker - a glaring need for the Clowns.

Love Richardson but I don't know if I want to take a RB that high in the draft. I think I'd rather re-sign Hillis if we can and focus on other positions. Too many other glaring holes to focus on when we have a solid RB on the roster already. Pointless drafting Richardson if we don't fix the offensive line, which I think we will but still.

Anyways, one game away from the offseason which unfortunately for Browns fans is usually more fun and optimistic than the real season.

Fuck Hillis. He's done and he's going to find out that NFL teams like to have their RBs showing up for work during a contract year.

Who is this solid RB on the roster you speak of?

I agree they need to bolster the O-line, but if they are truly going to be players in the FA market, that's where they can get a quicker fix than through the draft.

I agree about Hillis, he really lost a lot of my support but if they could come to an agreement I would welcome it. I really like Richardson, I honestly think he could be the next Adrian Peterson(impact wise, styles of play are a little different, I know), but I'm still hesitant to take a RB that high, if we have a good offensive line a lot of guys could be serviceable. Wouldn't really be mad at the Browns if they did though.

I honestly don't know much about Wright. Hear some people saying the Browns will take RGIII first and then Wright with the second 1st rounder. Not sure if I want that, but hell if they can replicate what their offense did last night, why not haha.


Going to be interesting to see how all of this plays out, will be nice to know where we are picking after this weekend too.

I'm not sold on Griffin III as a pro, nor any other dual-threat QB.

On last night's Baylor game they were pointing to Michael Vick and Cam Newton as evidence of a sea change in how teams win in the NFL. Nothing has really changed though. Those guys are putting up fantasy points, while the rings are being won by Rodgers, Brees, Brady and Manning.

I'm not ready to give up on Colt McCoy. I think he can be a Drew Brees-type quarterback in the NFL. People who scoff at that are ones who probably don't remember what Brees' first few seasons were like in the NFL.

I'd like to see them get some actual talent at some of the other skill positions and hire a damn offensive coordinator before investing yet another high pick in the quarterback position.

Jackson is pitching a fit in Philly, how in the hell is he going to handle Cleveland? Long shot IMO but people say Heckert drafted him, maybe they have a solid relationship.


RGIII is going to be a QB in the NFL (or at least drafted that way). I'm not sold on him yet, but maybe we can trade down to MIA or WAS to the 7-8-9 pick, some team who is enamored with him.


I still think Hillis can contribute. Disappointed everyone this year but I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up and spend a top-5 pick on a RB, when this team has so many needs. But like you said this team needs playmakers, anything to spark the team. So I'm indifferent to whether or not they stick with Hillis or go to a new guy, likely Richardson.

Definitely agree on building the offensive line through FA and how it can be easier/just as effective as the draft. Still would like to pick someone up to help the right side of our line, maybe in the 3rd round.



I'm not on the Colt bandwagon, but I'm not ready to give up on the kid either. Can't say I've been impressed with Shurmer, but who has? I agree, please please please hire an OC.

Any respect that I had for Wallace, I just lost all of it. Real team player:(
During an interview Thursday on FM/92.3, Wallace said it's been "very tough" for him to sit all season.

"Do I feel like things always are fair? No. And that's just the way it is. . . . It was Pat [Shurmur's] decision to give Colt an opportunity, and that's what it was."

A nine-year pro, Wallace reiterated what he told The Plain Dealer in June -- that he wasn't going to share all his knowledge of the West Coast offense with McCoy because he wanted to beat him for the job.

Asked during Thursday's interview how much mentoring he's done with McCoy this season, Wallace said: "Not much. Not much. That was Jake [Delhomme's] deal. He did a lot of some stuff with him last year. But that's not my thing. It's just one thing I don't do. I came in with the mind-set I wanted to compete, whatever case that was."

Wallace said he'd answer any questions McCoy might have about the West Coast offense, but he wouldn't offer unsolicited help.

I'm not sold on Colt, or anyone else on this team.

I feel like Colt can be accurate. But he doesn't have the NFL arm strength IMO. We need: OL, RB, WR's, and possibly a QB on offense. That's a lot to ask for just on one side of the ball.
