Cleveland Browns (2010 season)

If I were a GM, I'd feel a lot safer taking Colt in the 3rd. Good player but is he tough enough for a 20 game season?

Did anyone take Angerer in our mock draft? I debated taking him or his teammate Edds.

Thats fair Josh...but to trade away 3 picks to draft a guy who will be there in the third, as well as reaching on T.J. Ward is frustrating.

It's almost like every draft they try to look like geniuses by picking no name guys and hoping they turn into great players. The problem for the Browns is that they rarely ever do. They seem to reach for every player. Even if they weren't planning on taking a qb this draft when a guy like McCoy falls to you twice you need to pick him unless MH doesn't think McCoy is going to be a good pro. I would love to see a draft where they rank all the players 1 to whatever and take the top player on their list. I know they could give a shit what the fans want, but they could really earn some goodwill by picking a few big name guys and guys from OSU. Is that guy from Oregon really a better player than Coleman?

I guess so, but he was just on TV saying that he's letting Heckert and Mangini do all the heavy lifting on finding players.

That was the most pathetic thing I've heard all night. So he wants to come in here and put his stamp on the organization, but he takes one of his first national TV appearances while in this position to say that other people are the ones who really want these guys?

It lets him fire Mangini if these guys end up sucking.

I'm beginning to think the NFL knows something about McCoy that the rest of us don't know. At this point everyone has passed on him twice.

I'm beginning to wonder if that is in-fact the idea here. Seriously, how in the hell can you get to players projected as mid to late rounders in the 2nd? Montario would have been there in the 3rd maybe 4th easy. Same for Ward, a 3rd rounder.

And no, Ward isn't a better safety than Coleman - which is why this is so god damn frustrating. I'd really like to be in the war-room right now. Not to say a damn thing, but to just listen and laugh to myself at what some of these guys have to be thinking. The Hardesty pick has Mangini written all over it.
