Clark Phillips III (CB Utah Utes)

Sorry, but had Utah had a program changer other than Urban? I respect his father and all but come on dude. I understand this is the biggest decision of your son’s life but change the program at Utah? Really?

The bigger issue is having to live in Salt Lake for at least 3 years. That place is hell, I would rather be in Ann Arb...ok, won't go that far, but Salt Lake is awful.

Yea. Skiing Snowbird in powder so deep you choke is awful! But skiing has gotten outrageously expensive and is not for your average college kid. The parks are gorgeous though.
There is really no comparison of Utah football to OSU. We are arguably DBU!

Lol. Gotta hate that access to gorgeous national parks and mountains, primo skiing, and girls who are in good shape
Yup, because a SoCal kid is getting to be so excited to ski, hike and mountain climb(and hell be around girls in shape no matter where he goes)... :roll1:
The only reason I see Utah as an option is because of his brother, early PT and proximity for family

My take on Phillips:

If he was going to flip to Utah, why hasn’t he already? It’s the dead period, so he could simply ignore Ohio State. He’s in California, so he wouldn’t get crap from locals.

Seems to me he’s just looking for a few questions to be answered, and if they are he’ll sign.
how dare you come bringing logic to this crootin forum its not allowed

If he picks Utah, somebody has to explain to me in what world that makes sense. tOSU is an annual NC competitor and has developed like a gazillion 1st round CBs over the last few years. Utah is a pretty good Pac-12 team who has had two 1st round picks total this decade.

Sounds to me like he was maybe having a few second thoughts before Hafley left. If that’s the case then I’d guess it’s a lot more about distance/leaving home than anything else.

Utah might be a good compromise for a young man who wants to leave but not go too far. It’s certainly not just about the football if you are truly choosing between OSU and Utah.

Leaving home is scary and these are just kids. Hope he still comes to OSU but wish him luck wherever.

Glad you assume people in SoCal have no interest in the outdoors and you know his personal interests.

I don’t know his interests, but I can answer why some people might like SLC and what it offers over the flat Midwest.
