Unfortunately, this doesn't really surprise me. MoC has proven, time after time after time, again and again, over and over (get the point?) that he MUST be in the media spotlight. If his athletic ability doesn't put him there, then he will create some type of controversy to do it for him. He has had multiple instances like this, going all the way back to before the 2002 season. This kid is one messed up sociological glory hound.

ok I am officially no longer a fan of Maurice Clarett.. I actually sort of liked him still for at least helping us win a national championship. screw that now.

I agree. I have felt all along he was a kid who made bad decisions based partly on the advice of his supporters. Now it sounds as though he just has an axe to grind and refuses to consider he may be responsible for some of his previous actions. Ultimately, I hope there is nothing to this and it just is a non-story.

At this point, it doesn't matter whether the "rumors" are true or not. The fact is, ESPN is in town, and they're going to do a story. Once they do, the program will be hurt. Depending on what the story contains, and how true it is, and whether or not it can be proven....well, those things will decide how much the program is hurt. This could be huge....or it could be small. But the program will be hurt, because the story is going to air, and everyone is going to see it....fact or fiction. Just like the NY Times story.

I heard it involves using fake money at a strip... oh wait, wrong running back...

I imagine it has to do with benefits he recieved while at OSU... probably some buisiness giving him store credit or something along those lines.

On a related topic, when I was back in Ohio, one of my best friends worked at a dealership in Kent, and 4 players from thier basketball team 'worked' at the dealership and drove brand new cars from there... it happens everywhere.

If there is any doubt go back and watch the '02 NC Game. After his 2nd TD his team is all pumped and he goes and sits on the benmch by himself. When they win the team is on the field celebrating, MC is by himself in the endzone.
Complete headcase.
