Cincinnati Reds 2023 (sell the team Bob)

Sunday musings:

I understand why this years roster wasn't built with depth and run prevention in mind but they will have to focus on that for 2024. For fucks sake we are a bad pitching and defense team.

That was a reprieve last night, lose that one and it gets real dicey but they didn't so with 31 games to play, they still have their own fate in their hands (at least to make the WC-I am not worried about how they do in the playoffs).

Along those lines, I am pretty sure that win against AZ just guaranteed us the tie breaker with them? Looking at the schedule it looks like we have 7 games with them for the year and we've now won 4 with one to play.

Likewise, it's 7 games vs SF with 3 left and we are currently tied 2-2. Take 2 out of 3 in SF (tall order I know) and we have the tie breaker over our two key rivals for that last spot.

That said, we still have plenty of time to catch Milwaukee and or Chicago. They aren't as good as they are playing right now although the Cubs have an easy schedule from here out.

Reds need to pick up Giolito off the waiver wire since the Angels have given up and put half their roster on waivers. Would be sweet since we were interested at the trade deadline and we wouldn't lose any of our prospects for a starting pitcher, even if he hasn't done that well with Anaheim.

This game is unwatchable as much because of those hideous Giants uniforms as the lackluster performance of the Reds. If those were their unis in the 1880's, there was a reason they got rid of them back then. Nice to see Lopez back up with the team.

So even after all the injuries and that west coast face plant, they are still in it.

A bunch of guys were put on waivers, they only cost the pro rated amount of their contracts.

If Bob doesn't spend even a million bucks to help this team win now it's going to be very hard to believe they will ever do anything. This is a new development in MLB and it's going to put owners like Bob and his idiot son on the hot spot with their fans.

There is no more bullshitting about not being able to make a deal at the deadline. It's a straight up cash deal.
