Cincinnati Reds 2023 (sell the team Bob)

My wish is that they get a little bit of faux pennant chase experience the rest of this year, good health and continued development of the core players, defensive upgrades in a couple of key spots and a revamped pen.

If the pen can go from mediocre, then overworked dogshit, to elite this will be a very good team in 2024.

Anyone who has seen a few games this year with him knew he was going to go for it, and I was actually surprised he got thrown out. He tagged EDLC on the upper back and I thought he might have made it to the bag in time. Thought he'd get there. Go for it next time if the catch is made closer to the corner.

The Reds need to find another Greg Vaughn. The dugout is almost too cheerful with all the young guys. It's great energy but they need that big hitting mean sumbitch, regulator type guy to back shit up when they need a kick in the ass. Wish we still had Amir Garrett
Paul O'Neill fit that bill on 5 World Series championship teams, the first of which was with the Reds (our most recent, sadly). Very competitive, fiery, and a lone wolf type - he takes his own cart when playing in a foursome at the golf course - who would not be overly chummy in the dugout but would provide support when needed. Little known fact - he thought he had a real shot at becoming the Reds' manager when they ultimately hired David Bell in 2018, and was privately very upset when he was not hired.
