Injured Cincinnati Reds pitcher Alex Wood sidelined until at least June with back injury

OAKLAND, Calif. – Sidelined with a back injury since spring training, left-handed pitcher Alex Wood underwent another examination on his back last week. Reds manager David Bell said there was nothing new from the exam and Wood planned to begin throwing again in about two weeks.
Taking a two-week break from throwing, Wood won't join the Reds until June at the earliest.
“The plan is for him to start throwing in two weeks,” Bell said. “Right before that two-week period is up, he’s going to get looked at again just to make sure, so he’s not going to throw – I think it’s almost a full two weeks from (Tuesday) the way I understand it.”

After multiple back spasms during spring training, Wood threw a 20-pitch bullpen with all fastballs on April 20 at Petco Park in San Diego. He joined his teammates for seven days, just to break up the monotonous rehab schedule and check in with the Reds’ training staff.
Wood returned to the Reds’ spring training complex in Arizona afterward and suffered another setback.
“I’ve texted with him a few times,” Bell said. “He still remains positive. He was so excited when we saw him out on the West Coast. I can tell it just can’t happen soon enough for him. It’s hard for him to wait this out.”
Wood pitched in one spring training game before his back flared up for the first time. He had a 3.68 ERA in 27 starts (33 appearances) with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, striking out 135 in 151 2/3 innings.
“The exam was positive in that there was nothing new or different that they found,” Bell said. “Clearly, he’s just not healing the way we thought. Out of that exam, I think it makes sense to give him two full weeks to get all the way recovered and pick it back up again.”

So keeping score at home; Wood injured, Kemp useless and DFA'd, Puig useless and should be DFA'd.
At least they got rid of Homer I guess
so we've got that going for us
which is nice
