Cincinnati Reds (2017 official thread of moose knuckle)

Homer Bailey!!!!!!!!!!
Homer Bailey was blasted for 10 earned runs over just 3 1/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Cardinals.

Bailey walked four batters and gave up 10 hits in the disastrous afternoon outing at Great American Ball Park. The 31-year-old right-hander holds an 8.86 ERA and 2.04 WHIP in 42 2/3 innings (nine starts) this season.

glad they rushed him back from TJ a couple years back

seems to have really helped

Meh. It's not like they're paying him tons of cash so no biggie.

Somehow, this jizzrag holds wins over Pittsburgh, Colorado and Arizona. He went at least 6.0 IP in all three games and only gave up 1 ER in each. Of course, he has pitched in more than 3 games and been absolutley dreadful in those games, giving up at least 5 ER in 5 of his other 6 starts. Pay the man.

For any of you bastards that still love this organization....or at least love who they used to be, I'd recommend checking out the annual Portsmouth Murals Baseball Banquet that is held in January. It honors some of the southern OH and Kentucky guys that have gone on to have a career in baseball and all centers around Portsmouth native & resident Gene Bennett who was a scout for the Reds for 50+ years and was responsible for signings of guys like Barry Larkin and Paul O'Neill. (Apparently he nearly quit/got fired when he got overruled on taking Derek Jeter and they took Chad Mottola instead.)

Not all that surprising as his health had been on the downside, but Gene Bennett died on Wednesday at 87.

Oh, and the losers had a 9-0 lead yesterday after 1.5 innings before letting the Cubs tie it up 3 innings later. Somehow, they still managed to eke out a 13-10 win. Not like I care.
