Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

Hopefully we can do the same with Bobby Hart’s garbage contract and sign Jason Peters.

Dear lord do I wish they would do that, but for some inexplicable reason the powers that be in Cincy seem to think he is great. I have no idea what they are looking at in reaching that evaluation. But we do have to have a replacement in FA to drop him unfortunately since we didn't address that position in the Draft (I don't count the Kansas tackle in the 5th round, if he contributes it won't be this year).

Gonna be hilarious if/when he replaces Brady in New England.

I have been saying the same thing. I almost guarantee he ends up with NE. And watch Bellichick still win a Super Bowl with him.

- Also, that WR trio of Green, Boyd and Higgins could be lethal if healthy. Then Erickson has been pretty reliable and Tate had moments. Maybe Ross can become the deep threat we wanted him to be and stay healthy. Big IF on the staying healthy part, but you can't say the Bengals haven't tried like hell to get Burrow weapons to throw to.

Another smart financial move for Cincinnati. Ross was due to make $16m in 2021 which would put him in the same ballpark as Mike Evans, Brandin Cooks, DeAndre Hopkins, and Adam Thielen. Hard to justify that price for a player that’s racked up 700 yards in three seasons.

Agreed 100%, the financial part of the picture is coming clear on how we are going to pay the big free agent pickups and draft picks. Ross was the bust I (and I think most here) thought he would be. If you look back on that draft, it was just idiotic taking him given who was available and that is not hindsight. And frankly, our WR corp without him is just fine. Green, Boyd, Higgins, Tate and Erickson is one hell of a position group at WR.

I wish we would have grabbed a TE, but maybe we take a flyer on Jordan Reed, Delanie Walker, or Ed Dickson. There is a reason those guys are available and I get that, but they could help out. That being said, one guy I had totally forgot about was Drew Sample, our second round pick in the 2019 Draft...the Bengals are still very high on him and as a 2nd rounder, he has to step up this year. And I do think Uzomah is a good target in the passing game, he has had some nice moments for us as a role player.
