Well, Bengals picked up Cordy Glenn at LT from Buffalo and traded picks to go down from #12 to #21 a couple weeks ago. Honestly, I like the trade. Huge upgrade at the biggest position of need. I would love picking Price at #21 (maybe not too early then) and I would feel a heck of a lot better on the OL. I think you could potentially work with Glenn-Boling-Price-Smith-Ogbuehi (in some order, with Westerman and Hopkins in the mix). Could also go LB with #21 and see who is there at center in the 2nd round.

In any event, I think there really isn't a big difference between 12-21 in terms of having a good OL or LB available, and we pick up a position of desperate need with the trade.

Yeah, I really started to question my judgment because of how much I liked the trade. Glenn is expensive and has legit injury concerns... but when healthy, he's a stud and we moved back 9 spots in the first round to get him. In terms of relative player impact, 12 vs. 21 is negligible to me... although if Roquan Smith or Tremaine Edmunds somehow drop I'm going to be really sad to not be there. I also liked the Chris Baker signing personally, he was bad last year but he's on a one-year prove-it deal which has worked well for us in the past.

Rotoworld's draft needs column for the Bengals is out http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/nfl/78821/71/nfl-draft-needs-bengals?ls=roto:nfl:gnav. I generally agree, but if we go WR early I'm going to lose my mind. Hated the John Ross pick last year and it was obviously a complete bust, and then did nothing at WR in a deep FA class so now it's still a need.

Think we should go OL in 1st (seen both Price + James Daniels from Iowa), then some combo of LB, OT, S, CB over the next 4 rounds (in that priority order for me). Generally our CB play has been solid but releasing PacMan leaves us with a bit of a hole there.

I would be pretty happy with that mock draft, particularly Orlando Brown in the 3rd if he is there. Also, I would be more than fine with Daniels at center.

Apparently safety Eric Reid is visiting with the Bengals, would be a major acquisition and fill a huge void back in the secondary. Not sure if they will seriously look into signing him before the draft (they are apparently already over budget on free agency), but something to watch. Reid was the guy I really wanted in 2013. Get him, draft an OL and LB in the first couple rounds, and I think this team could be interesting to watch. Picking up Preston Brown at LB (led the NFL in tackles last year I believe) and Cordy Glenn at LT already went a long way in addressing big areas of need, getting Reid would give the Bengals an A+ for this year's free agency if they can pull it off.

Does anyone think we go center with Price or Daniels at #21? Still a little high for center imo, but I don't know if either would be available at #46 in the second round. I know a lot of it depends on who gets taken in the first 20 picks, but I would prefer we go LB at #21 and trade to move up early in the second to get Daniels or Price. We have extra picks in the 3rd and 5th rounds, maybe throw one of those out to move up.

I think that’s too high for a center, plus I think Price will be there with the Bengals 2nd pick. That being said, they’ve reached for players before, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them do it again.

I would like to see the Bengals go with either McGlinchey from Notre Dame (since I highly doubt Quentin Nelson is available at 21), the Guard from UTEP that had a solid Senior Bowl and Combine, or potentially grabbing Orlando Brown with the 21st Pick. Might be a bit of a reach, but it’s hard telling when O-lineman start flying off the board. Once one gets drafted, everyone else starts to look in that direction.

I mostly agree with that analysis. I think Brown would be available at the 2nd (maybe even 3rd), but I would love that pick later. I just don't know if one of Price or Daniels will be there in the 2nd honestly. There are a number of teams that need a center between our 1st and 2nd pick. And we critically need a center more than any position imo. Hell, I would even love going McGlinchey and then Price/Daniels with the need on the OL.
