Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

Marcus Peters has been chirpy after every play, he punched Mixon after the tackle, and I think he was the one who knocked the wind out of Tee last week. Fuck marcus peters.

Bengals are playing with urgency, vigor and lethal execution so far. I think they hate the ravens as much as I do, maybe more.

Omg, Mac, gotta stop missing the PAT's.

First - great win. Beating that team (as well as Pittsburgh) will never get old.

Second - why don't we get a coin flip for home field vs. Buffalo?

Third - do we really have to go through a second playoff season with disastrous OL injuries?
The next Carman block on a pass-rushing DE will be his first. They need to put someone else at LT.

First, absolutely agreed I hate the dirty birds with a passion, that was really fun to watch. Above all, fuck Marcus Peters, such a cheap shot guy and should be suspended for a game to start next season for the shit he pulled last night.

Second off, you're 100% right and this is really the injustice of everything. They were right to call the game that night and I get they couldn't reschedule it. But they punished us for no good reason, if you cancel that and have the same records, they should pay at a neutral site or at least do the damn coin flip

Third, I'm thinking the same thing, how is this happening two years in a row where our key OL all get hurt near the playoffs. Only positive is that we could possibly get Kappa and Williams back for the next game, both are questionable. I think Kappa will play but too early to tell on Williams. On Williams though, I think fans kind of miss how bad he's been here. He's given up the most sacks in the league this year. No solution really this year except to roll away from that side and get rid of the ball quickly (which Joe has been great at the second half of the season), but we have to address LT in the draft or FA.

Agree on Williams - has had a really poor year.
However, Carman is next-level bad. He couldn't pass block from the G position and now he's our LT???

I don't honestly think there is a ton of drop-off with Carman...I agree Carman is awful and we should have never drafted him, but Williams is so bad I don't know if his injury hurts us much. Carman is piss poor in pass pro, but it seems his run blocking is decent. Either way, I think Burrow can adapt and especially if Kappa is back. I will say Sharping looked pretty good overall in filling that spot from what I could tell.

I rewatched the game with sound since I had the day off. Just some random observations. First is obvious, Burrow is just in stone cold killer mode and I don't think we'll see a better QB in Cincy in our lifetime. Second is that Hurst is the man, losing Uzomah was a perceived major hit, yet Hurst brings the same energy and leadership...frankly we might have upgraded there for a much cheaper price tag. Third is that Volson was a major diamond in the rough, he might be our best OL as a rookie...dude doesn't just get his block, he is out there for violence and wants to put every defender into the ground. Fourth, Apple might need to ride the pine...I think the injury is factoring in and I know we don't have many options after the Awuzie injury, but he is flat out getting toasted on basic routes being ran by backups to the backup. I was hoping he would regain his post-season form from last year, but I'm just not seeing that happening right now. Finally, going to end on a positive note, the will to win and the brotherhood on this team is there. It's really hard to beat a good team two weeks in a row, I'm sure Baltimore will point to the injuries but hell, we had a ton of key guys out as well. I truly think we'll beat Buffalo this weekend.

Edit: Silly me, how could I not mention the poetic justice of Sam Hubbard getting the last touchdown. Moeller grad and state champ, national champion at Ohio State, and hopefully a Super Bowl champion for the team he grew up rooting for. Almost a Disney movie type finish. I got a #94 orange jersey on the way from winning my fantasy league and I picked that one for a reason.

Last edit: Coach Lou is incredible in his adjustments during the game, probably the best I've seen since Zimmer. Like Zimmer, he'll get a head coach job offer soon. When that happens, guess who I want to take the job? Zimmer.

Actually, the last 5 minutes were a blur last night. After watching again, Carman actually did alright to start and then was so bad at the end that if he just fell down every snap it would have been better so the DE would have to at least jump over him. Huge concern to advancing past Buffalo. Now you can target either tackle and probably win.
