A few notes of hope before hitting the sack. Sometimes CPR is given even when there is a pulse, or after a pulse is regained. You can recover from things like commotio cortis and aortic dissection (trauma surgeons thinking this might be what occurred), especially when repaired surgically. Being young and in top shape help his chances of survival.

Here's to hoping to wake up to better news tomorrow or soon thereafter.

Without words right now for a whole ton of reasons. Prayers for Hamlin and his family, that's the most scary thing I've seen in a football game. I don't know what happens to playing the game, but I'm not even thinking about it tonight.

Somebody earlier mentioned Chuck Hughes (that was before my time), but my first thought when he collapsed was Chris Pronger in 1998.
