Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

I was hopeful if Burrow stayed healthy the whole season. He just doesn't do much losing. I am still not completely convinced about Taylor. The decisions he made in the last minute of this game were out of the box, but the players probably loved the aggressiveness and it ultimately worked out. I don't doubt the Chiefs would have scored if they got the ball back with 50 seconds left, so Taylor is probably one of the stars of the game. We'll see how he does if he loses OC Brian Callahan.

He’s definitely a gamer. No quit in him.

Wow, The Bengals in a gritty win.

I'm so used to the old days when first and goal from the two with less than two minutes to play would have led to a spectacular fumble, interception, blocked kick, one offsides, two holding penalties, and a personal foul followed by a punt returned for a touchdown by the other guys.

Me thinks that Katy has inched Dad out of the management role.

CBS Sports Winners and Losers from Week 17
  • Ja'Marr Chase's big day for Bengals. With 266 receiving yards, not only did Ja'Marr Chase break Chad Johnson's franchise record for most receiving yards in a single game (260), but he also set the NFL ROOKIE RECORD for most receiving yards in a single-game. The record had stood since 1979 when Jerry Butler had 255 yards for the Bills. Chase now also has the highest single-season receiving total of any rookie since the 1970 merger. Chase is also just the fifth player ever to have multiple 200 yard games in a single-season.

  • Joe Burrow's big day for Bengals. One week after throwing for 525 yards, Burrow was just as impressive against the Chiefs, throwing for 446 yards and four touchdowns. With those numbers, Burrow has now set the single-season franchise record for passing yards and TD passes. Burrow is also the first player in NFL history to throw for 400 or more yards with four or more touchdowns and ZERO interceptions in consecutive games. Not to mention, his two-game passing total of 971 yards is the second-highest two-game total in NFL history, trailing only Dak Prescott, who threw for a total of 974 in Weeks 3 and 4 last season.

Yeah I honestly thought if Burrow stayed healthy and Chase lived up to the hype, we might be .500 or slightly better with a chance to sneak into the playoffs. Frankly, I think that would have been good since we are missing some pieces on the OL and defense. AFC North champs is freaking amazing and of course I want to make a playoff run, but I have seen enough from the core players of this team to believe in them.

Taylor I am not totally sold on for what you said...I was screaming at the TV and even though it worked out, we got some help and luck to pull that one off. I know you don't want to leave 50 seconds or more on the clock, but going for it there was not a smart play. And there have been so many instances of stuff like that, that I am having trouble even tracking it. I think he has clearly earned another year and I am glad how it turned out, but I can't tell if we are excelling despite Taylor or if he is a big reason for it. I am rooting for his success in the biggest way and would love if he is the guy, but I am not all in by any means yet.

I know I am late to the party, but Who Fucking Dey baby! What a fun season to watch, last time in awhile. I think resting Burrow and some other guys is smart...if they were all healthy I would say play them for the best seed we can get or possibly even a bye. But with the possibility of playing banged up players and get them hurt for the playoffs, it ain't worth it imo. Play Allen and other guys and hope for the best. Who knows, we won a couple unlikely games having to do that last year and maybe we will pull it off anyways.

With the Chiefs winning, no real reason for the Bengals to play any of their main starters now. Almost guaranteed a 4th seed and really 2-4 there isn't much difference in the AFC this year. Hopefully we win though because I don't want to get swept by the Brownies.

I'm excited to see the Bengals in the playoffs.
Not excited to see the Raiders DL vs. the Bengals OL.
If we can give Burrow even a medium-amount of time in the pocket, I see a W.

Don't love that position matchup, but overall I think it's a good draw. We can certainly F it up as we usually do, but I actually like us in this one. Just hoping we can win one playoff game to break the curse.
