Eye to the future, honoring the past
Love getting McCarron in the 5th...incredible value for us there, I think the kid has what it takes to be a good QB in the NFL and his experience at high levels of play makes him even more desirable. I also love moving up to get the center in the 4th (Bodine)...position of need and it is obvious we had a high grade on him, so I am all for being aggressive and getting our guy. Could be the starter right away, that is great value in the 4th.
And although I got upset with the Clarke pick at first blush in the 3rd, he is a player that I that I think fits in extremely well here in Cincy. I also think the Flowers pick in the 6th was great, kid has a lot of potential. Like the 7th round too. Overall I give this draft a B+.
The odds are not in AJ's Favor. Other than Bart, The Snake, and Broadway Joe, none have really been up to the task.
(Rutledge was a holder for the Giants, and a backup for Mark Rypien.)
