When I heard San Fran cut him I was hoping he might end up with the Bengals.

GEORGETOWN, Ky. ? A tough, smart, phsycal player at the cornerback position during the past decade, Nate Clements opted to take his AFC North game home to Ohio and the Bengals, a league source confirmed Saturday night.

Cincinnati reached a deal in principle with the 31-year-old Clements to replace Johnathan Joseph and work opposite Leon Hall, a move that spilled out as the Bengals were in the middle of their first practice.

Nate deserves a better ending than this.

He either gets arrested for beating the hell out of a stewardess on the plane ride from SF or blows out a knee in the first practice.

It is only twitter so I dont know how reliable it is, but I've seen that Donte Whitner might be talking to the Bengals as well as Bradshaw...with that said I dont know if we get either but still encouraging.

Well, they sure have enough money to pay them.

If the Bengals got Whitner to go along with Clements, it would actually be an improvement on D even though they lost Joseph.

In the end it doesn't matter, this team will be lucky to win 4 games with the offense they are going to throw out there.

I don't know..if we got Bradshaw(doubt it), then the offense looks like it wouldn't be very bad...we have plenty of weapons(Green, Gresham, Simpson, Shipley). It really depends on how the Oline performs as well as if Dalton can pick up the system quick enough.

The QB is the whole issue. Palmer was at least around league average. Gradkowski/Dalton are not going to be league average. Dalton may turn out good, but it's very, very rare for a rookie to be anything but a mess (especially with an abbreviated training camp).

ffmastermind just posted that Adam Shefter is reporting Cedric Benson resigning with Cincinnati for 1 year 3 million dollar deal (w/ another 2 mil tied to incentives) If that's the contract then I'm not hating it & I'm wondering who the hell is actually running the Bengals on these last 2 deals.

EDIT

And hence, Bradshaw's visit has been cancelled

We also did cancel the contract of the OL that we picked up from the Cards, turns out he was to fat to pass his physical. Remember, this is a team that Andre Smith was able to passs the phyisical, so just think how fatand out of shape this guy had to be.

I'm not totally sure how the new deal works, but I thought the floor doesn't kick in until 2013. Assuming that is true, cheapskate Mikey is saving as much as he can while he can.

If Hamilton Co. refuses to pay for the stadium upgrades due to budget constraints - he's probably figures he'll have to do it himself, thus the savings.

Perhaps having only lived in Cincinnati for 7 months and counting, I'm just not as cynical yet.
