To put that in perspective, I've never rooted for Michigan to beat anyone. I laughed when App State beat them, I laughed when Toledo beat them, I laugh at their failures.

But I'd laugh if they beat UC for different reasons.

I root for Michigan, although DickRod has made it difficult. The Big Ten needs a strong Michigan (and Penn State) to regain national respect.

For them to lose to a mid-major like UC or one of the MAC schools would only further lessen the B10 in the eyes of the college football world. I'd root hard for them to lay a plunger rape on little brother to the South.

Count me in this category as well. I rooted for UC when the greatest game in school history was a trip to the Humanitarian Bowl and a shot @ Utah State. They were another local rooting interest. Especially when Dantonio took the job. But the "LOOK AT ME" nonsense is beyond ridiculous. The BCS website, the T Shirt, Every word out of Mardy Gilyard's big fat yap, the "paradox" of playing the Rodney Dangerfield role yet being ranked ahead of us. It's getting knee deep down here in SW Ohio.

2012 can't get here soon enough.

But instead of Fredo being taken out on the lake I want him drawn, quartered and the carcass sent to all 4 corners of the state.

Can someone explain something to me? The two slogans that I've seen in which UC is poking fun of OSU is the "Ohio's BCS school" and "Buckeye State" thing. I really don't see the logic behind either of these and have to wonder if they were going to try and poke fun of OSU, couldn't they have came up with something better like I don't know a Terrell Cryer t-shirt?

First, as to "Ohio's BCS school"; that would have been a nice jab if OSU had been in the Capital One Bowl or something, but last I checked the Fiesta was a BCS bowl with a hell of a lot more interest in it than the Orange. I can speak from experience given that fact that I'm a season ticket holder to both and have donated the last two Orange Bowl tickets to charity since no one has any interest in going. I actually posted on the UC board that I would give the tickets away and no one took me up on the offer. This isn't really a knock on UC as I couldn't give them away the year before either.

Secondly, as to "Buckeye State"; I get it that the U and C are together in the word Buckeye, but are you trying to say that UC is confined within Buckeye or that you can't spell Buckeye without UC? Sorry I just don't get it. Maybe someone can explain it to me?

They're not even worthy of the Fredo insult because what truly became the University of Cincinnati didn't exist prior to Ohio State's founding. Sure there was some little college that they use to predate us, but what became the modern University of Cincinnati was a political compromise that Rutherford B. Hayes agreed to in order to get Ohio State founded, designated as the state's flagship and land grant campus and have it located in Columbus.

To get the Cincy politicians to sign off on his plan, he agreed to sign a bill establishing "municipal universities" in cities over 150K. which at the time was only Cincinnati. The city subsequently used an endowment they were sitting on to combine a couple of small, inconsequential private colleges into "The University of Cincinnati."

They aren't even Fredo. They're our afterbirth. We were Arnold, and they were Danny DeVito.

I used to root for UC. I rooted for them all the way throught their Orange Bowl last year. But this year, the fans got cocky and started taking shots at my school, and thats just too much. You guys can win all you want, enjoy it. But I don't see the necessity in the BUCKEYE STATE t-shirts, the "Script Cincinnati", the pushing of the OSU fan down the stairs. I don't see the point in it, except for the fact that you guys don't really care about winning as much as you just want big brother's respect.
